  4. Yup, you definitely own it. Great shave Danny!

BTW, I keep a small vial of Clubman just for a mid-day refresher. Just a bit at the beginning of lunch :D...

  6. I never really get BBS shaves with the shavette. The chin is a matter of getting the right angles and light touch in hopes you remove hair and not skin. I also tend to buff a bit after 2 passes instead of just doing a cleanup with the DE or other razor as I would prefer to master the shavette and not rely on other methods for finishing the process. I'm still getting satisfaction from the shavette as I'm not looking for BBS , but I also don't expect to get as close as I would another type of razor. The buffing gets me quite smooth this way but next shave I may try 3 passes of hair reduction and see what happens. You're doing great btw Tim!
  7. Sounds fantastic, Paul! Truly a very excellent shave :)

  10. Got sidetracked ( imagine that ) and forgot to post this headshave report
. Went quite well actually. 1st pass with the grain 2nd against the grain all the way back as far as I could see in mirror. Switched over to the injector for the back part cause I didn't want to push my luck and frankly don't know how to go about doing so. Slight nick above ear but it wasn't a bleeder. If any of you guys that do headshaves with straights or shavettes are viewing this , please give me some tips on how to do the back of head .

  12. Fantastic shave, report, and photo, Jeff! The dog's pretty darned cute, too--when he's not tripping people up with his swag ;)

  13. Nice shave, Patrick! Just be careful with your first headshave. I would suggest that you do only one pass because you are learning your headshape and hairgrowth. Finish with yiur normal razor. Wish you the best!
  14. Cool picture, Tim! I think you are being too hard on yourself. You're doing great with the shavette.
    Thanks!

  17. Hi Patrick, I shave the back of the head with the same method as with a safety razor. I do three passes of WTG, XTG, and ATG. As far as back of the head, I do it by feel. Keep the blade very shallow. Flatten the base of the head, by putting your chin on your chest while looking down. As I am going N-S or S-N, I place my off hand finger on the toe and leave the finger at that spot as I move the blade down or up. Move the finger overand have the toe touch the finger once more and then repeat. I find that I don't have that many misssed spots. Feel the back of your head after 2 passes for missed areas. Shave them and feel if there is smoothness. If not, then try one more pass or use a safety. If you want BBS, you need to do at least 3 passes and touchups. Eventually, you will not use the DE except for very minor touchups. Congrats on first shavette headshave!
  18. Great shave Tim. If it makes you feel any better I have to do 4 passes on the chin to get it totally smooth. Two XTG in opposite directions and then two diagonal ATG in opposite directions. Going full on ATG is too uncomfortable fot me.
