  1. A shelter, if you will, for razors that need adopting. Yes... that's the ticket!

What a gorgeous day in STL and it was a busy one as well. Temps in the low 60s, plenty of sun and I made some $$$. That's a good day. Shave tonight continues with the Wunderbar which is quite Wunderful to use. Makes you wunder why it isn't used more, or why in the world they didn't just spell it with an O! The Rapira PL is still totally smooth and sharp and it didn't take much for this combination to take care of two days growth. The Stirling Bay Rum was great, and I much prefer a traditional type Bay Rum scent to the ones they try to "fancy up". The JR54 was effortless in making more than enough lather for three passes. BBS was the result and I'm a very happy camper Wunderful, Wunderful...er.....Wonderful. Have a great Sunday!!

  6. Your wife and my wife probably attend the same meetings--it's not like I have loads of hair anyway, but the Missus is pretty adamant about keeping the razor on the face only

  7. Once again, a great shave Neil!

  14. That is a Lawrence Welk shave Neal. The young ones will not get that. :D

  15. Beautiful shave, Neal! Really like the looks of the Wunderbar--RR knew what they were doing when they came out with that. That's a gorgeous brush for your gorgeous day ;)

    Shavette Shave #7--”Better Still…”

    Gear
    • Razor: Focus R21 Shavette--with the scales off, this light shaver is very light. I decided to drill a series of holes in the shaft of the plastic insert, and fill them with epoxy putty to put a little more heft back in it. It’s not crazy noticeable, but does make a difference. I am really enjoying this shavette much more than my old Utopia Care!
    • Blade: Personna Blue (1)
    • Brush: Stirling Kong
    • Soap: Soap Commander “Drive”
    • AS: Clubman Original
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

You may have noticed the box behind my gear acting as a backdrop to my photo. The box was quite a surprise (as in “Dude. How did you get my address?” kind of surprise). Inside? Some pretty awesome stuff c/o Andrew @Linuxguile. Think I’ll take a shavette break on Sundays as an excuse to use the other 30DC PIF’s that have come my way (you all are some insanely generous folk here). Needless to say, my den is pushing maximum density--even with my 5 razor purge last month.

    The Shave...
Even better than yesterday. Decided on 3 focused passes for today--2 of them actually were. Pass #1 (WTG) was a nice, controlled pass. #2 (WTG/XTG) was more of the same. Pass #3 (XTG/ATG) was mostly controlled with a bit of chasing towards the end.

I’m just short of BBS, and even the chin is at least CCS. I’d say, overall, this is an above-average DFS with less irritation than yesterday. Got a couple very slight weepers on my chin, and one on my neck, but they disappeared with the cold water--back to the dugout, styptic… you are not needed today! .

It still takes quite a while for me to complete these shavette shaves. Efficiency will come with time I imagine. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone (Keith--burn Monday)!

  20. That's great Terry! My comment on blade/razor compatibility with a shaver's skin and beard type is a generalization. Obviously you are an exception. In my case, I have sensitive skin. Although I keep the settings of my adjustables at the max, I use mild to medium aggressive blades. If I used a Feather blade, then I would shave at setting 6 on my Gillette adjustables and probably 3 or 4 of my Rockwell razors.
