I wouldn't overthink this too much. I have spent a lot of time around "germy" kids (and even sicker kids in hospital settings where I'm wearing gowns, gloves, face masks, etc.), and I rarely ever catch anything. I have officially completed 1,000,123,187 high fives and 2,047, 361,531 fist bumps with kids under the age of 10 over that past 20 years. I keep my hands clean (I use hand sanitizer or soap and water) and don't touch my face, nose, or eyes until I do so. If a kid is obviously sick, I try to avoid them, stay at a reasonable distance, or wear hospital PPE. From what I've read and for those of us that are generally healthy, the commonsense measures are what we all need to be doing...all the time.

 

It's almost less painful to simply purge.

I don't blame you for taking a detour shave with the Lupo. I definitely wouldn't pick up the shavette if I wasn't feeling well. The Lupo is a cool razor, and it's fun to switch up your shaves periodically anyway. I plan to do likewise.
