It was just a thought. I wonder if a soak in paint stripper or oven cleaner would remove it.

Fantastic shave and report, Terry! That Glacial Lemon Chill always leaves an impression on me when I see it--a good one.

Also very impressed that you were able to glue in a blade not meant for the razor, but make it work so well. Seems to me that MAYhem is a weekly occurrence over at casa de Terry

A gutsy VDH shave, Jim! I've always steered shy of the blades even though they are one of the few that can be found in a brick-and-mortar store (at least where I'm from). My daughter, though, did pick some up for the Lady Gillette (courtesy of Evan @MrEE ), and didn't seem to mind them. It's nice to know they are a viable option should push come to shove.

It’s supposed to be very hard to remove. It might be better to use a gun kote over the dlc coating.

Awesome looking photo and shave, Jason. Love the muted metals. Also nice to see Derby's getting a little love. They were my first blade when I got my DE89, and because I was new to shaving, and got rough results, I blamed the blades. Shaved with some Derby's 4 years later and was amazed at how much "improvement" Derby had made with their blades

Thank you Joe......I could have gone with Foamy Menthol, but it was too chilly this morning. I don't care for those days where the temperature gains 30 degrees from mid- morning to about 3 hours later. It was a day to put away the cool/cold weather paraphernalia. Maybe tomorrow, too.
