  3. Wonderful shave Danny!
Derby blades are somewhat dull to me, glad they work for you.

I try to keep from beind boxed in.
It did work, and the hot glue comes off fairly easy.

  6. Awesome shave, photo, and report, Evan! That Cool Menthol Godrej looks like great stuff, and Osage Rub is always a fantastic way to cap off a menthol Monday! I've found that now that my technique has improved some, my milder shavers have be getting me wonderful results--except for the chin; thinking about a flame thrower for that... :D
  7. Thanks Patrick!
You need a bump stop to keep the blade at the right angle.
But if I can get someway to keep it angled correctly. Holding it in place should be easy.

    Nice looking SS.
Glad you figured out the mild razor.
    I have similar issues.

  9. Good evening guys!
    March 9
    Headshave
    Jones Shake Sharp SE Razor
    2 Rockwell DE Blades (1)
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Piacenza SS and AS
    Nivea ASB (not pictured)
The Barbury brush is my most inexpensive one in my den. It does the job, but there isn't any comparison to my other brushes as far as lathering and performance. Sad to say that my Piacenza has lost is scent. It used to be my favorite soap, but now it is just meh. It could be that the blooming or not completely rinsing my brushes that foreign residue scents wreaked havoc with this soap. I am not sure. Even the aftershave doesn't smell the same. It could that my sinusitis just does not help me smell it or it could be a combination of all three variables. In keeping with this month's theme of shavette/straights and SE razors, I decided to use the Shake Sharp razor because it is so easy to get a BBS shave without any mishaps. Anyway, the first pass was ok, but the second pass I knew I had to replace the two blades. Voila! The shave went according to plan and got my BBSD (baby butt smooth dome). Applied the aftershave and Nivea to top off this smooth and comfortable shave. Have a nice evening fellas! 20200309_183752.jpg 20200309_183752.jpg
  10. Very nice, Joe!
Shame the soap has lost its scent.

  11. A legendary 2 pass shave, Jeff! I'll get there some day. That Silversmith is a pretty shaver--glad to hear there's more to it than just looks. Enjoy your evening :)

  15. Wow, Andrew--you got some great set ups in those shaves. A couple guys devoted all of January's 30DC to PAA gear, and I was mightily impressed with what I saw. I've used Scots Pine Sheep, so I know firsthand how awesome that is :D

I was going to ask if anyone had heard from you. Glad to know things are swinging around again, and I hope your health increases quickly and stays that way. Nothing wrong with experimenting with honing, but definitely nothing wrong with realizing what works best for you and largely sticking with that either ;)
  16. Thank you, Gentlemen. Very nice to hear the kind words after a long day. Hopefully, I’ll be able to respond in kind later this evening.

  19. No, thank you! Having that Baker Street around and not being able to use it was killing me. The razor was destined for the donation pick up box, and I'd rather it went to someone I knew (1 razor down, 4 more to go )
  20. Thanks guys!
