3/11/2020 Parker Chrome Handle Silver Tip (CHST) Timeless Shaving Bowl Mike’s Natural Soap – Wild Honeysuckle Rockwell 6C – White Chrome/Plate 6 Voskhod Blade Clubman After Shave Lotion Great shave this morning with a razor that has not seen daylight in a long time. I did not feed the badger enough soap to begin with and after one pass I reached for my Razorock Plissoft synthetic, loaded some more and whipped the Mike’s up in to some glorious lather. Mike’s is good stuff and I appreciate Clint sending the soap to me a while back. I don’t use it often but when I do, I really enjoy it. The scent is not quite there but the performance is top notch goodness. Finished it off with the Clubman juice. Hope everyone has a wonderful hump!
Boy, did I need today's shave!!! I looked in the mirror and saw that a beard was forming on my chin and over the upper lip. I had used magnificent goo the last two days. Are those days numbered now? That hasn't happened when using Clubman Sophisticated Goo, nor with Rise Super Foam...perhaps I over-complimented the Gillette Foamy, by calling it Magnificent. Decision-making time!! Anyway, the shave itself went off well. I suppose ANY shavesoap would have knocked off those whiskers, but Central Texas Soaps Weekend Rodeo had the honors today. I'm back to normal. This CTS is the one that has no Bentonite Clay(the Grandpa's Barbershop has it-thus I am "grandfathering the Grandpa" now(-chuk yuk yuk). I forgot what Greg replaced the clay with, but it really allowed for some great loading, spreading, and shaving. 2 passes, solid neck work. I did get a cut around the upper-lip area, but I'll gladly take the cut if it means(as it did)losing the grey Astroturf I saw pre-shave.. I probably put on too much of the aftershave(also Weekend Rodeo), but it's settled down now. Quite Excellent.
Danny I see your Mike's soap has Kokum Butter among the ingredients. PAA soaps do as well, which must be one of the reasons I like "Smitty's(PAA)soaps.
good morning gents, wednesday shave.pulled out the goodwill empire french set and loaded a platinum.took a break from the razorock as i get bored easily and lathered up the saponificio bignoli "young" soap with the eveready h40 badger.2+ smooth passes and a near bbs was the result.smooth mild razor but quite effective..twisted thayers to finish and a shot or 2 of mont blanc legend edt..awesome..have a fine humpday everyone..
While I do like my Razorock Lime Burst soap, I can get bored with it after 3 days(sometimes 2), as it appears I'm not making progress. I've been calling it a pancake that shaves off whiskers.
