  1. No you don't. :happy102:

Who is going to explain this to Myles? Whoever it is just be tender. We don't want to ruin him for life.

Charlie @wristwatchb are up to the task?

  2. Ok but no, I haven't seen it. This is the first I've heard of it.

    But remember...
    Aggressiveness is in the hand.
    Efficiency is in the razor.

Don't be aggressive, you'll get a great shave from an efficient razor.

  3. we're talking about the store right? I'm very slow, jokes go over my head. I'm literally the kid you saw in school who ate crayons and drank glue. don't sugar coat it im tough I swear ;):)
  4. Thanks Danny! I timed my projected 150th shavette shave and my 150th traditional straight shave just right. I thought it would be fitting to use my very first shavette (Dovo) and my very first straight, the Dovo Special to commemorate these milestones.

  7. Yes we are talking the store. We know you are tough but we still consider you to be in a vulnerable and inoccent state at your present age.

  9. A fantastic set up, shave, and report, Joe! :D

You, sir, have logged quite a few open blade shaves! But know this: I'm only 290 shaves away from catching you up (although I don't see me ever having the time for straight razors and their maintenance--at least not for another twenty or so years). ;) :happy102:

  14. It isn't a question of TIME-I just can't do them without someone right next to me. That's the best way I learn things like that.

  15. Lol! I have to go shopping Friday on my day off to get some NY strip loin steaks!
  16. We have a different mindset. I have found efficiency to be in my hand not the head of the razor.
  17. O.K. here goes.

We have always poked fun at Paul @Paul Turner about aisle 12 at the Piggly Wiggly. You see Paul has had several if not multiple encounters with the opposite sex that we cannot deny nor confirm at a Piggly Wiggly store. The running theme of these encounters seems to be Clubman. That is why you was advised to be careful wearing the vintage Old Spice to Piggly Wiggly. You see some of the women that shop there are probably on the look out for a man and it is possible with the right kind of aftershave they may not be able to resist. You may get "taken" right there on aisle 12. Paul has come close but he may have left most of the stories out. Myles, understand that these are not women who shop at the local Victoria Secrets. They are older, lonely women, probably a little on the heavy side and still in their curlers. A young man like you would not stand a chance, especially if they are hunting in pairs.

If I left anything out please fill in the rest guys.

I hope this helps and please be careful if you do shop at the Pig.

  18. Thanks Tim! Friday will be shavette shave 150 and Saturday or Sunday will be straight shave 150 and that will give me 300 open bladed shaves. Let me clue you in on straight razor maintenance. Stropping a razor to get it ready for a shave takes about 2 minutes when you master it. Yes, you have to strop the razor every time you shave. As far as honing, as long as you don't damage the bevel by dropping it on the floor or dinging the razor against a faucet, then you can refresh the blade by stropping on a pasted strop which takes less than a minute. So I am talking maybe 2 x a year to hone a razor on a stone or lapping films and you are not resetting the bevel. Generally, honing shouldn't take no more than 20 minutes. Now, I never used stones, but I have used films and that's what I am basing the amount of time to maintain a razor. So time is not a factor, but honing a razor to your liking is. However, that's down the road if you go that route. I understand why shavers prefer shavettes over straights because of the maintenance factor, but there is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment you get from shaving with a straight razor that you personally honed.
  19. :happy097: no thanks not getting the "pill Cosby" today.
  20. If I was his age, then I would only go to that store withour wearing any cologne or aftershave. Problem solved. Besides, Myles would be at the beach talking up the girls his age so he wouldn't be bothered with the over 40 women. Lol! Myles enjoy your youth.
