Welcome to the end of a Wednesday! My (mostly) day off and I made the most of it. Lazy day with the wife walking in the woods and just taking it easy. So easy, in fact, that I decided I'd just push the shave for today off to Thursday. Why not, right? Why do tonight what I can do tomorrow? You are correct in ascertaining the root of my hesitation--honing. I've tried several times to hone knives and they almost always leave the session worse than when I started. I fully intend to get a kamisori or straight razor at some point in my life, but only when I have the time to learn how to refresh a blade without destroying it.

I'm a bit like Paul @Paul Turner with his photos--it'd be helpful to have someone staring over my shoulder to say, "Stop! No, like this!" before I wreck anything too badly.
