    Soap - Stirling Port-Au-Prince [IMG]

    Post - Alum

I do believe Spring is close. Thunderstorms and monsoon rains today made for a wonderful day on the streets of St. Louis. I'm all dried off and ready to get rid of two days of beard. The Kai Captain and Feather Pro blade are absolutely perfect for the task. Add in a mutton tallow soap from Stirling and the Hybrid brush and the lather was overboard in quantity and quality. Totally smooth run through that extra beard with no tugging, irritation or other problems. Smooth sailing all the way to a near-BBS finish and a nice relaxing time getting it. Gotta say.....it's a good way to end a long, wet day.

The highlight of the day - with all sports now shut down - the guys on "The Fast Lane" were hilarious today. It's a four hour sports talk show here in STL and they were trying to figure out just what to talk about until things start up. Very entertaining. I think they'll do fine. Hope you're all well and safe and had a good Thursday! Have an even better Friday!! Yes, here comes the weekend!!!

  15. Thanks. I have a few comments on the products and their performance. I'll work backwards.
The Aftershave Tonic is truly outstanding. The scent is strong, yet not "in your face", the skin care is wonderful and the big, 200ml bottle will last you a long time. This is a top-tier juice. The shave "creme" shares the same scent, so I give it a 5/5. The lather it produces is dense, stabile and slick. I have one complaint only. This is my second jar, having returned the first because the product had "granulated". There were tiny granules throughout the cream. The company scent me a new jar, without hesitation: good customer service. With this past shave, I noticed some granules in this jar (almost a year later). I stirred up the product and, sure enough, it has started the same granulation. :angry019: I am not going to contact the company, but rather try to use the product up as quickly as possible, never to purchase again. I have commented on it on our 30DC thread, which you might find very interesting.

    Friday's Shave
    zcws.jpg

    Cold Water Rinse
    Williams Mug Soap
    Semogue Owners Club
    Schick L1
    Schick Proline
    CWR
    PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm

The Williams Mug Soap face-lathered well with the Semogue Owners Club brush. I used the no bowl/dish method today. I wet my face with my brush, rubbed a new puck of Williams on my face, and built the lather on my face. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick L1 with a Schick Proline blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  17. Hope you feel better fast!

  18. Friday morning:

    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Shark day 7
    Tcheon Fung Sing Sottozero SS
    Prep ASB
    Aqua Velva Sport AS Splash

There’s no question about it - this Shark blade is finito after a week of faithful service and top performance. The Sottozero is a very illogically named soap because in Italian, sottozero means “below zero” but the truth is with this soap all you get is a mild, pleasant minty scent and a very restrained cooling sensation. The lather works up very rich and thick but there’s hardly any slickness, and it’s not that skin friendly compared to most of my other soaps. Thank goodness for the Prep which gave me the necessary postshave care which I needed, and the Aqua Velva Sport went on very chilly, along with its nice scent. Despite the blade being at the end I still managed to get a great shave!

    Have a nice weekend![IMG]

Semogue 740 Badger - Pré de Provence No 63 Soap - ER 1912/GEM Blue Star - Gotas Frescas Agua de Colonia Hombre

A couple of firsts today. The PdP No 63 is a very nice soap with a lovely spicy scent and it performs exceptionally well. The 1912 was bought as part of a 'job lot' ....just to get a couple of other razors. On closer inspection it would appear to be a Peerless (hexagonal aluminium handle). If it is......I think I got the razors for a steal!

3 passes for a perfect finish.....and I washed my hands before I felt my face!
