Awesome fat shave with the FuzzTech and the Fat. Three passes, no blood loss and smooth as almost the day I was born. I was a pretty baby.

Finished the shave off with the Club.

I put a rather unusual handle on the FuzzTech that I purchased off of E-bay in January of 2019.

I cannot find any information on it but I copied some of my post from January of last year.

O.K. guys...see if y'all can help out with a little info on a razor I picked up off of the Bay. It is the metal handle razor in the left of this picture. It is a Simplex brand and I grabbed it because the handle was unusual. I also like the little Gem Feather Weight as well. I could not pass both of them up for $6.75 including shipping. Has anyone seen the metal handle Simplex before and any info would be appreciated.

I searched the web over and the only reference I can find to a metal handle Simplex was on TSD. Everything else is bakelite handles.

Alright guys, the handle that came on this E-bay Simplex has me scratching my head I was hoping someone with more razor knowledge could figure this one out.

After closer inspection and comparison I believe the handle to actually be a Gillette handle. I did notice that when I unscrewed the “Simplex” two piece handle that the male threads had what appeared to be red Loc-tite. Did the handle manufacturer ever intend for the handle to be unscrewed or had someone added a little Loc-tite after the razor was manufactured? I don't know. Does anyone know if Gillette has ever manufactured a travel tech extension like this?

The lather was gorgeous, but grainy.
I cannot believe that I am the only shaver that has this issues with certain soaps.
Wickham's was the first, many years ago.
The Myrsol Don Carlos...yup, grainy.
It's a testament to poor soap-making. Period.
Look at AoS, Proraso, DRH, Eufros, Baume.be.
Perfect creams, without issue.
This stuff was not cheap and I feel ripped off.
I'll use it up because it works and smells great, but I am done purchasing Hemingway Accoutrements shave creme.
I might consider the aftershave tonic, which is amazing.
The shave was good, until the neck. Even with the lightest of touches, the Silver Blue is harsh.
Had to abandon any thoughts of a BBS.
Maybe they will be better in a different razor.

Interesting thoughts on the GSB, Joseph. I do find some other St Pete’s blades smoother, but I’m the opposite and find those Rapiras not as smooth. Sharp, though.

The JR #290 was loaded with a,nice thick lather that was slick and cushiony. I just love this Bay Rum scent and as always, Stirling soaps delivers. I chose the Dovo shavette for this important shave because it introduced me to straight razor shaving. I really wanted to get one of my greatest shavette shaves because of this milestone. On a 38 hr stubble, I got a fantastic BBS shave on two and a half passes without any blood or irritation. Under my old system, I would grade this a 99.5. Splashed on a liberal amount of the Bay Rum aftershave and finished with the Nivea. My skin looks great ! Ok, Tim, Charlie, and Patrick, I am veering off the road as you continue on your 100 shavette shave March. I will rejoin you on the shavette path for a few shaves during the last week of March. My next shave will be with my very first traditional straight razor, the Dovo Special and that will be my #150 traditional straight shave. That will occur on Sunday. Have a great day guys! Good morning

Used the Apollo Light for the first time this morning. Chose the two line baseplate which is marketed as aggressive. More blade feel than I expected. I don't know what the gap or exposure is but it will shave comfortably from shallow to steep angles. I'm most comfortable with riding the cap. I did my usual three passes for near BBS. Silent alum except for an isolated spot under my chin where I had a technique induced weeper. I would call it an excellent first outing. I won't be experimenting with angles tomorrow. I'll be riding the cap and sticking with the aggressive plate for two more shaves before switching to the "smooth" baseplate.

I’m the same way, Tim. After about a week, my beard itches and gets irritated and I can’t wait to shave it off. Haven’t even tried the Movember thing for 7 years or so for the same reason.
