2020 Shavette Focus Shaves # 11 and 12
Two more focus shaves are in the books, and both were super close and comfortable. Beginning today, I'll complete all my shaves using the Sierra Romeo X-ray without the Trusty Travel Tech. Yes, that's right. You read it here first. I'll keep the Triple Tango handy for the occasional focus detour shave, and that's it!
Using the SRX has become almost automatic, even though I continue to have the utmost respect for any open blade razor. I'm always keenly aware that I'm one stroke away from visiting the local ER. Fear of doctors and a high insurance deductible helps me stay focused.
The LE brush made by our very own @jtspartan performed flawlessly. This brush is another permanent fixture in my Den.
Regrettably, I must report one egregious misrepresentation in my SOTD photo. There was, in fact, NO Blood on Steel as promised on the soap label. I will contact the manufacturer first thing Monday morning to report this major product defect which is tantamount to glue dots on DE blades and soap granules.
Preliminary investigation has revealed either a mislabeled product, or worse yet, a failure to achieve correct saponification.
Film at 11. Until then, let's just say that this wouldn't be Ralphy's Favorite Christmas Soap.
Oh yeah, the song is coming along nicely...
Baby, if you've ever wondered
Wondered whatever became of me
I'm rockin’ the SRX here in Kentucky and splashin' on too much Aramis EdT
Got really burned with the Norelco
Round and round and up and down my mug
Maybe you and me were never meant to be
Just baby think of me once in a while
Loading up that Voskie, leaving you behind
Hardest thing I ever had to do
Broke that blade in two
But Baby, pay no mind
The price for getting smooth was losing you
Introducing the Grand Seiko Blue Snowflake Ref. SBGA407. I admire the attention to detail on this piece. In particular, the dial color and texture are real eye catchers. I love how GS dials contrast shadows and light. That's a design hallmark of this brand
The auto-wind engine under the hood ain't no slouch, either. I really like how GS shows it off with an exhibition case back. Just beautiful inside and out.
I hope you all have a terrific and restful weekend.
