After previous SOTD shown with those lovely Schick A & B, I have to settle for a very nice Shave with an ER 1914. It does vary a bit as it has 12teeth as opposed to the regular 11.

    Cold Water Rinse
    Williams Mug Soap
    Semogue Owners Club
    Schick L1
    Schick Proline
    CWR
    PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm

The Williams Mug Soap face-lathered well with the Semogue Owners Club brush. I used the no bowl/dish method today. I wet my face with my brush, rubbed a new puck of Williams on my face, and built the lather on my face. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick L1 with a Schick Proline blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

If we go by Appleby's designations this razor is the second of 3 J4 variants. If you want go by my designations using the dummies guide then this is a 1st variant, style 4 I/J. This particular one was only produced for a few months in 1958 and is characterized by the fact Eversharp dropped the hydro-magic branding from the razor stamp and labeled it an Eversharp Schick.

    https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/schick-type-i-and-j-injectors-for-dummies.63557/

Using the light pressure and ride the cap technique this razor is as mild as they come. They used to make claims you could dry shave with these and the earlier ones made from 1954-58. That claim is absolutely true the only drawback to this razor is it is not good for removing a few days growth unlike the J4v3 or 2nd variant, style 2 using the dummies guide which is a beard buster. As a daily shaver you should have no problem getting BBS shaves with this razor.

    P & B Spitfire
    Schick Type F
    Schick S/S - Japan [ 1 ]
    P & B Spitfire A/S Splash

A rather pleasant start to this Injector rotation, with the good looking Type F which is also a delight to use during a Shave as it fits so well in the hand. I know it is considered mild, but with a good blade on board is very smooth yet efficient. I had a really laid back Shave and had no problems getting a satisfyingly close all round finish, probably one of the best in the last week.

Hope you all have a good weekend, and that you and your families stay fit and healthy.:).

Went with the light pressure and ride the blade. Mild but effective. Best shave yet with this razor with a BBS finish. What I think is going on here is that by applying the width of the blade angle guideline like you would with a shavette or straight razor is the best way to use these blades since it seems to allow for the blade bevel to run along the skin keeping blade edge from going into the skin and only into the hair.

    The Grosvenor [ 404-mixed ]
    Vitos Super Red
    Schick "O" Clone
    Schick S/S Twin- Japan [ 8 ]
    Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

I knew this would be a good selection for a relaxed Sunday Morning Shave. The 404 slightly dampened coaxes a super lather from the Vitos. I find that by not rushing and using quite short deliberate strokes the Twin Blade not only provides a smooth Shave, but it very efficiently cuts through my quite heavy growth. This Razor may well be a clone of the Original, but I find that it performs really well with a Twin Blade - I actually prefer this to a Schick Adjustable with a Twin Blade.

Did the light pressure and ride the cap to see how the technique works with this razor. Shave was okay I've gotten better shaves with this razor. I've also had performance issues with Proline blades in this razor before so the less than satisfactory results may be due to the blade and not technique. I will revisit this razor with a Personna blade and this technique in a few days.

I had a great shave today. I've been meaning to do this shave most of the week but haven't shaved in a while. To tired to look back to confirm but I believe the last shave was Sunday. I did the right side with the BT and the left with the FW. Great shave all around and with a side by side comparison I'd say these two are closer in efficiency than I had thought previously. The BT being ever so slightly more efficient. I was still able to pull off a very socially acceptable shave and just wonderful pass and light touch up.

The FW just took the slightest bit more touch up to achieve the same results. Either way an excellent shave can be had with either razor. And a very fun relaxing and refreshing shave can be had with the 2 together.
