Outstanding shave today. My skin feels especially soft and supple after this drama free shave. I realized that I was loading this soap way, way, to heavily! I'm already seeing the donut hole after only three months or so! I will certainly replace it when needed.

  5. Fine shave this morning with Stoylin Sandpiper Soap&A.S. Right away as I got the soap on to my face&neck, I said to myself "You're gonna need a second pass" But pass #2 still had some water. Should have done a better job shaking it from the brush(or MOST of it). The overall shave was good....Jayaruh#59 did a fine job of loading the soap and administering it onto my face and neck. 2 passes(as I said), no cuts. Probably a little too much aftershave applied. but I figured it would "calm down my face and neck" eventually, as it did. I'll be sure to watch my brush preparation tomorrow. Pretty Excellent.

  7. SHAVE OF THE WEEK

Hybrid razor = EJ head/Scotch & Stowe handle
    Vie-Long Silver Tip brush
    Viking "Citron" SS
Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe & Viking "Citron" balm
    Assorted A/S

I like all the individual parts and hope they all like each other. We'll soon find out.
  8. Gem BT-Seeing Eye (1st pass), Leaf (2nd pass). Leaf with 3 Treet Platinum blades is a bit more efficient, the Gem easier to use.[IMG]

A very smooth and refreshing shave. The Mergress is a very competent razor that rivals many of the exotic alloy razors in the market today. Precise alignment and dial adjustment, it takes a back seat to none in terms of shave quality and performance. A great evening and shaves to all....

I bought this razor when it was released several years ago and never managed to use it due to its reputation as a very mild shaver. I enjoy milder razors nowadays so decided to give it a go. It took the full 3 passes....but what a finish!
