    Shavette Shave #14

Okay. School closure till April 13th--the place is a ghost town. Teachers locked away in their rooms trying to come up with a month’s worth of meaningful assignments for students to work on. Honestly, I could have come here in pajamas, but that feels like admitting defeat.

Instead, I threw on my favorite pair of slacks, a dark grey button up shirt, and tied my gray, black, and purple striped tie in a trinity knot. No virus is keeping me from doing what I do.

    Gear
    • Razor: The Max Headroom Focus R21 shavette--after a jun break yesterday, the shavette is on!
    • Blade Personna Blue (1)
    • Brush: Stirling Kong
    • Soap: Soap Commander “Drive”
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave...

A 2 pass shave today with some chinnish touch ups. 1st pass (WTG) went well except for a spot under my chin that I wound up catching with the blade--there was blood, and it kept bleeding after the 1st cold water rinse… buh, buh… BUHHHHM! It disappeared by the end of the shave, so no styptic. Huzzah!

Pass 2 was the standard hybrid of XTG/ATG, and that went without issue other than a minor weeper that disappeared before I even got to the 2nd cold water rinse.

Rinsed off, cleaned up, threw on some AV (almost no sting), and I’m at a DFS with no irritation. Great results, but I went slow and steady today. I take that back; I went sloooow and steady today.

I think I might just stick with 2 WTG passes for the remainder of the week and see what that feels like. I’m a fickle little monkey, but for now that sounds like an interesting idea.

Have a fantastic day and week, and keep on being awesome!

    14 down, 86 to go!

  12. Thank you gentlemen for the well wishes!
Tim--Boiled icing is homemade and tastes delicious compared to the canned stuff that most cake makers use. It kinda resembles a perfectly whipped up lather actually.
Jason--So that explains all these mysterious aches that have appeared out of nowhere lately that I blame on winter inactivity. Its a joke here now before we leave the house to start looking for my keys and glasses ahead of time .
Evan--- I thought I was getting a new hockey stick . Imagine my excitement. Then I removed the paper and found this broom. Funny bunch they are .
Charlie-- don't know how much longer I can hold onto this piece of cake for you. Its really delicious and my willpower is weak today.

Its comforting to know I'm not alone as I see there are a few others in the 50 club. 1970 was sure a good year !

    Menthol Monday

    Razor: Gillette Rocket HD
    Blade: Kai Stainless
    Brush: DSCosmetic 28mm Tuxedo
    PS: Stirling Menthollated Pre-Shave Soap
    SS &AS Stirling MITA

Easy shave this morning. I admit I picked the brush because its bright green goes well with the Stirling jar.

DFS today with simple no touchup 3 pass shave. I think I will be using the HD more often. The heavy razor with a standard head seems to be a good comprise between the FlareTip and RedTip razors.
