Took me a time or two to get the face lathering down. Little bit of water at a time does the trick till you get a feel for how much water your soap can take. Honestly, if my face weren't so gosh-awful sensitive, I'd probably still be face lathering. I might give it a try again this Sunday just for kicks
March 18th Razorock .68 GC Jaws w Nacet APShaveCo Mixed/ Resin & Sapele Soap Commander Endurance Thayers B&M Reserve Spice I interrupt the regularly scheduled NEW focus to have a few days with my finally-arrived Game Changer. Loaded up a fave Nacet, got a decent lather, and had 3 pleasant passes. Not completely smooth, but not too far from it. Not bad for a first day. Love this heavy handle, fwiw. I’ll weight it later, but it is hefty for sure. Somehow, however, I cut myself right by my ear and it needed the styptic. What is really odd about that is the blade doesn’t protrude out the end of this razor. Bounced it off my ear when my son came in to say good morning, I think. Have a great day all!
The ultimate sacrifice; you are a good man, sir! Funny. It was the exact opposite for me--The Missus wanted to see what a beard would look like over the summer. It looked decent, but man I hated the way it felt Great shave and report, even if you had to shave the glorious soul patch
Wow. You lost me half way through that explanation. Until yesterday, I was unaware of bridge mode or NAT. The entire thing was not my highest and best use for the evening.
Fantastic spicy shave, Jason. Glad you're taking some time off to play with the new toy--I was curious to know your thoughts on the Jaws
I've been using synthetics for the last 4 or so years--really like them, but even then, the more time spend on my face, the more likely irritation will rear its ugly head. I give my initial lathering a quick scrub-down, but it's usually all painting thereafter. A shame, really, because I rather enjoy the feel of face lathering.
Thanks, Tim! I've heard the scent described as a slice of grilled orange. Thank you, Jason! I enjoy both plates. It depends on my mood which plate I'll reach for.
March 18 Shavette Shave #16--”Time Keeps Flowing Like a River...” Much less interesting shave today--that’s a good thing. But man, is it taking me a while to get through a shave. Much less blood though. Gear Razor: The Max Headroom Focus R21 shavette Blade: Personna Blue (1) Brush: Stirling Kong Soap: Soap Commander “Drive” Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops AS: Clubman Citrus Musk Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented The Shave... I went with a 2 pass shave today--WTG and XTG, but there were some massive touch ups. I’ll be in brief contact with parents of students today as they come in to get their work, so I figured I’d polish myself up a bit. Very small weeper was the extent of my bloodletting today. DFS and just a little warm on the upper lip--winner! Have a fantastic hump day all, and be safe out there 16 down, 84 to go!
