The Virgilio Valobra Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #391 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick L1 with a Schick Proline blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I rather spoilt myself again today by using a Twin Blade,the Elegant N3 is probably the best Schick that I use with a Twin Blade [ and that includes the Adjustables]. The Shave was very smooth and it was so easy to get an ultra close all round finish without the hint of a problem. Probably have to do a Shop for essentials [ enough Shaving essentials for a few years] before we oldies are forced to stay at Home.

 

Gem BT-Seeing Eye (1st pass), Leaf (2nd pass). Leaf with 3 Treet Platinum blades is a bit more efficient, the Gem easier to use.

In the past, I’ve never gone past 4 shaves with this blade - just habit to toss a blade after four uses. However, now trying to push it further, I’ve found shaves 5,6 and 7 with this Gem PTFE blade have been great.

Schick N1, Schick II twin blade, shave 15


Tried the light pressure ride the cap technique. Managed to keep to cap riding but the pressure part I got rushed. Either way the shave was a BBS finish except under the jawline of the chin. Will try again and keep to light pressure the next shave with this razor.

 

It is my second time using this Schick E3 and got a great shave!

After treating myself to some Twin Bladed Shaves I pushed the boat out again by loading a New Blade into the E2. Last time out with this Razor I was a little disappointed , I think the blade was a bit off. However, today a very nice Shave as this E2 performs very smoothly and I got a super close finish without the hint of any problems.

 

Saint Patrick's day shave, I have some gear to remind us of the day. I will be using some older photo's of the shave because my phone was stolen in the hospital were I had some surgery done.

Razor :One blade core Version 2 -mfg 2018> excellent daily driver.
Blade : Gem SS PTFE (6)
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside.
Brush : Yaqi rainbow brown whiskers 26mm.
Preshave : shower and wash the face.
Prep : cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave : Razorock XXX with with hazel + Nivea balm.
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = great shave.

BBS finish but harsh shave most likely due to me dinging the blade edge on one side when opening up the cut outs to get the blade to fit over the tabs. I will revisit this razor with a newly modified blade, shave harshness should be lessened with a non dinged bladed edge.

 

That’s a shame about your phone. Great shave though!

A lovely Shave with this "Schick Buster", calmed down a lot with use of the Schick Proline blade. Was In fact very smooth and quite forgiving with a great close all round finish.

 

SOTD, Wednesday Mar 18th 2020

Razor : Gem clog pruf (Peerless variant)- Mfg 1945 - 17 nibs safety bar. (excellent razor)
Blade : Gem SS PTFE (4)
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore "Firenze" - great soap in every way
Brush: Yaqi Timberwolf 24mm synthetic
Preshave : brush wash my whole face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a Dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave: Avon "True gent" aftershave with witch hazel + Avon "true gent" balm- now that is a nice scent.
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no weepers + no irritation = excellent shave this morning!

( no photo's today after my phone was stolen while recuperating after surgery from my room.)

Beautiful razor. I've seen a few different color variants online. Never seen one in person. Do you know if the color signafies a difference in shave efficiency or any other difference?

 

I have had 2/3 with different coloured shoulder collars and not noted any difference in the way they Shave.

New blade that isn't dinged. Even at a flat angle and light pressure this razor is just a plain ole aggressive razor nothing particularly smooth or efficient about it. It likes to tug when it cuts and if your lather or face is too dry it will tug and cut skin with hair even at riding the edge of the blade. With that said 2 shaves in this razor is one of closest BBS finish shavers I've used thus far. Only thing is shaves like these don't come for free and the price is some long lasting irritation. I could feel that I shaved for a few hours afterwards. Yesterday's shave dinged blade edge and all with this razor was an 8+ hour BBS no hint of stubble finish . Today's shave should be about the same.

 

Looks like you have another BEAST. R41 can’t hold a candle to this thing it sounds like.
