March 19 Good evening guys! Headshave and Face Shave Schick Injector Razor E - 3 Schick Blade (4) Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush Sandalwood AS and SS Nivea ASB Ok I figured that I will try to headshave with this razor to really see if I got it down. I always shave my face first. I bloomed the soap and used the water as a preshave. The brush really whipped up a nice lather to start this shave. It was really creamy and voluminous. I had the brush wetter than usual so face lathering was more efficient than usual. I got an IBSS++ with 2 .5 passes with touch ups. I didn't get any irritation or cuts, nicks, weeps, etc. Splashed on the aftershave and topped it with the Nivea to finish the first half of the shave. On to the headshave, I had to reload the brush to continue the shave. Three passes and minor touchups gave me a BBS dome. Again, didn't get any irritation or cuts. Ended the shave in the same manner as the face shave. Well, it seems to me that I definitely have this razor dialed in because I completed a great headshave. I have to say that this razor really impressed me with the fine results. By the way, I have now encountered the circle of death with this tub. Pictures of gear and open tub below. Have a nice evening fellas!
The bottom picture is similar to the one @Primotenore used by putting the head of his Swedish buddy(he needs a name....I say Magnus Svensson)directly in front of his shave lineup.
Hey 30 Day Crew! Mind if I look over your collective shoulder? Took me a little TSD vaca, but I'm back to see what folks are up to. I've only read the first page of this month's post so I'm not up on the Theme of the Month if there is one. Shavettes? Urr. Not ready to try a head shave with one just yet.
Hey Jim! Not yet... Late last year I was seriously prepping and thought I could break free. Didn't happen. I did renew the passport as it's required. Then the Holidays rolled around, and daughter took a cruise so I was Designated child care worker, and the next thing I knew it was this year. 'Tween then and now daughter and grandkids decided to relocate. So now I don't have all that after school but before their mom gets home duties. And along comes The 'Rona to put traveling on hold. Still got a new grandson to see near Melbourne, and the proud parent. It'll happen, just not right away.
Nice to see you again Rick....I can't imagine shaving my head if I lost my hair due to...say...having to do chemotherapy. I'd just let it grow back naturally, and there's always the barbershop.
Same here Paul. Glad you and a few other familiar faces still around. Considering my standard male pattern baldness, shaving my head was only half a choice as the rest wasn't growing anything. I haven't had a professional hair cut in years - instead opting for the Wahl home clippers.
Rick, it's good to hear from you. I hope all is well, my friend. I'm on the shavette train this month with a few other crew members. Jump in and show off them SOTD photo skills you learnt at the Sam Sung On-line School of Photography.
Rick! Great to hear from you! Yes, many are doing Shavettes. Gary and I are focussing on Gillette News. Some of us have also had a bit of a run on Game Changers. A few new Russian razors or Russian care packages as well. A few others are focussed on attracting 'friends' on aisle 12. Lots of cool watches as well. One of the new guys has us exploring exotic tie knots. Same old, same old...
Charlie still puts out some of his funny posts every now and then and is waiting to take his wife back to the Mayo Clinic for treatment. Primo's had the granule gremlins return in his soap. Patrick shaved his head. I bought a couple of nice brushes, straights and a new Parker shavette. Chris is the guest host for this month so that Neal can take a break. We have new 30DC members. Joanna had the 13th TSD Anniversary raffle and won a JR brush and a Schick injector. Completed my first rule in Dec which was using the same straight, brush, soap and aftershave for 30 consecutive shaves. Everyone else has been on their best behavior and some of the newbies got piffed stuff. Paul still hasn't figured put how to take pics with his phone. Jim and Clint are still enabling others. Evan is a new member who replates razors and does a great job. Randy made a surprise visit a few days ago. Believe it or not, there have been very few subpar shaves this year, so everyone is rolling along. Otherwise, everything is normal.
