UPS just drove by here.....I don't know why, as I didn't order anything. (Never mind that there are 48 units in my bldg. and 5 more bldgs. on the premises).
Well, that was my beginning....2 years+7 months in the 1950's, pre-teen years in the 60's. . I miss those times.(Course ages 3-12 would qualify as pre-teen, right? chuk yuk yuk).
March 21st Razor: HomeLike CT☆PT .69SB Blade: Astra SP (3) Brush: PAA Solar Flare Pre-shave: PAA The Cube Soap: Stirling Agar PAA Galactic witch hazel Stirling mentholated balm AS: Stirling Agar Good morning Awesome shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Just the lightest tickle from the alum. This morning's shave completes my three shave run with the .69 SB baseplate. I'm a happy shaver. Ranks up there with the smoothest razors in my den although has probably one of the smallest if not the smallest amount of angle available to actually remove whiskers. Have a great day!
March 21, 2020 Karve with D Plate Gillette 7 O’clock Yellow 30DC LE with Tuxedo Bad Habits Shave Soap & Aftershave Guerlain Habit Rouge EdT Up and moving pretty early this morning. My wife is off to Lexington to move Maya home this weekend since the University of KY is going online classes and closing the dorms. I decided to pull out the Karve. I cleaned it up and polished it lightly. Honestly, I have given serious thought to selling the Karve just because I don't want to deal with the brass. If it stays in the den, I will most likely antique the brass so I want have to keep it clean. The 30DC LE loaded and lathered Bad Habits with ease. The scent of the soap opens with a citrus over leather and tobacco that smooths out into a base of woody notes. The scent is inspired by Habit Rouge and does a great job of capture the essence of the EdT. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby with ease. A splash of the matching aftershave followed by Habit Rouge and I am ready for the day. I am on the way to a client site to pick up some files and work remotely this afternoon. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
Thanks, Clint! Next up is the .90 SB and that'll be followed by .90 OC. The last will be the 1.18 SB.
Very nice shave, Jim! I just realized that the name Agar jogged my memory. There was an actor named John Agar who was a supporting actor and a leading man in the 40's and 50's. He was in sci-fi B movies as well. He also was Shirley Temple's first husband. Now, I don't think Agar is named after him because Rod and Mandy are too young to know about this actor.
Terrific picture and shave, Clint! I feel the need to keep my razors shiny. I know your feelings about polishing brass and completely understand. I'm sure it'll be comforting to have Maya home. Safe travels.
Awesome photo and report, Jim. I wonder if other base plates might yield a larger sweet spot. I've hovered over Agar time and again, but because I have no frame of reference for agar/oud, never pulled the trigger. Paul's efforts have got Agadir AS on my short list though
Thanks, Gary! Thanks, Tim! I'm sure the larger gaps will be easier to shave with. I'm not bothered by the small sweet spot and actually quite enjoy using razors with them. I can't describe Agar but I can tell you I have nothing else like it.
