Thank you Jim. I had an excess of idle time on my hands Saturday so I used a chemical antiquing solution sold at the wood working store. You have to soak the item until the desired color rinse with water and wipe of the excess. Then a final soak in a baking soda water solution to neutralize the solution. I am pleased with the razor turned out.

Tomorrow's shave will be the finale and swan song for this tub of Hemingway Accoutrements Shave Crème.
This soap is a real Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde product.
When smooth and sans granules, it rises to heights, only aspired to by most creams.
When granulated, as this and my previous tube was, it is a snaggle-toothed wretch, only a mother could love.
It is for that reason and that reason alone, I will never purchase another soap from this company.
I gave the company a chance. They showed good-will by replacing the first tub, only to send me a tub,
which would eventually suffer the same fate.
Adios, HA.
For the final two shaves, I have chosen my 1958 Fatboy.
I used the same Gillette Platinum blade as yesterday and set the razor to 9.
The Chubby 3, a.k.a. lather-hog extraordinaire, was employed as face-latherer.
As gorgeous and as dense as this brush is, there is a limit to how dense a brush can be
and the law of diminishing returns. Yes, it's like rubbing a soft tennis ball on your cheeks,
but without sufficient flow-through, one is compelled to squeeze out the lather
to apply it to your face.
It will be with a heavy heart when this brush hits the BST threads.
After 6 years in this hobby, I have found that my "sweet-spot" for brushes is
between 22-24mm, with an occasional 26mm, assuming the loft is high enough.
Side note: 6 years ago, I was absolutely clueless regarding brush geometry and the related
terminology. Primo has come a long way.
The shave was good, until I stupidly attempted an ATG on the side of my upper lip.

I guess Primo has a ways to go.
No cut, but the expected weeper/irritation. Oy weh.
The Gillette blade now resides in my blade bank as Gillette Platinums are good for only two shaves.
Even with a healthy splash of the HA tonic, I still have perhaps 1/3 of the bottle remaining.

I am still hanging in there.

I was feeling a little shave lazy for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The ATT Calypso took care of business Monday morning and this morning. I brought out the Imperial soap and an Astra SP for both shaves.

Day 15 of the NEW focus, 2nd with this Goodwill. 2nd use of this new brush as well as I want to break it in a bit.
Went with a full 3 pass shave. Everything worked as it should this morning, which given my love of the Jeeves lather and all things NEW, was a very good thing.
I was a lousy 30DCer yesterday. Popped in a few times but wasn't really able to find enough time to respond to all your great posts. I hope to have a little more time later in the morning.

Lather: Stirling Glastonbury
Aftershave: Stirling Glastonbury

I felt like a sheep soap shave, and Glastonbury answered the call. I got a little rushed on the shave and lost focus on the angle a bit. This resulted in a bit of irritation and a weeper or two on my neck. Not bad, but a little user error none the less. I smell like a hippie and ready to tackle a touch day of work at home. I have my day time pajamas on and am ready. I hope everyone has a great day!

This week i decided to use my South African made soaps exclusively, and boy was i glad that i did! I forgot how good the reitzer perfect shave is, super slick soap, i just absolutely hate the small diameter container, so ill have to remove the puck and load the brush from a larger container.

The palmshave performed wonderfully too, definitely one of my slickest creams, even though quite a lot is needed to get a decent lather.

Ive forgotten how well the derby extras perform, they're definitely one of my favourite blades even though theyre on the opposite end of the spectrum compared to my favourite blades the feather's. They really have impressed me with their longevity, and for the price the derbys are definitely hard to beat.

Went to a new shop today that sells imported goods and found these two beauties at a bargain price!

I should have enough aftershaves for the next decade now lol.

I love the scent of Fine Aquamarine. It opens with a very strong citrus note. I almost made out tangerine or orange this morning. The citrus fades away to an aquatic green scent that stays throughout the shave. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby. A splash of the matching aftershave and I am off to the office to work on business property tax returns. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Decided to get out a razor I haven't used for a while, and a soap I've all but forgotten.
The scent is great, but the performance is lacking in my water, sad to say.
If I could get it to lather better I'd be fine with it.
I can't get the lather to stay for long either, that's my hard water for you.
It hangs around just long enough for the pass and that's all.
The Red Tip is my favorite out of all of the super speeds.
With a new Feather blade installed it does a good job.
I've seen where some post on the web state that it is a really aggressive tool.
I humbly disagree, it's a good razor, but no brush hog.

One of my first brushes, one of my first soaps, a good razor and blade combo.
This was a good shave, a year ago it would have been a great shave.
Two years ago it would have been a fantastic shave.
3 years ago it would have been somthing I could have only dream about.
No issues, clean, smooth and ready for the day.

Brush: My Aluminum Silvertip Badger
PS: Stirling Menthollated Preshave
SS & AS: Stirling Orange Chill

I am really liking this Shavette. Shave 6 with the blade seems to be the turning point. It was still sharp enough and still smooth. I'll try shave 7 with it tomorrow and see. I do always do 3 passes so I might not get as many full shaves. The shave it self was fear the alum close and yes, the Alum was WARM. I like that every once in a while as long as the irritation settles down within a few minutes. Which if feel like it has.

My skin is extra soft and smooth and citrusy as I set alone in my home office.

Thinking I may alternate with one of My Dovo's and one of my Shavettes each shave for the rest of the month to see how much easier the straight razors are. I have the advantage of not being around people right now so if I'm irritated I can hide pretty well.

2 passes with neck touch ups to a DFS- shave this morning. This J3Customs Kamisori also needs some time on the stones....it's edge not quite as keen as usual, and didn't want to risk irritation going for a third pass (especially for the neck, which irritates easily). However, very nice face lathering with SV and the HC brush today. SV's triple milled shave soap formulation is quick to lather, hydrates easily. Great face feel with the matching SV FA after shave, which is clear & slightly thickened, but not quite a true balm/lotion. Wonderful aroma.
