Awesome gear and photo, Jason! I'm impressed by the Goodwill--looks like a fine shaver, and it's in great shape! Glad to hear the brush has stopped shedding, and that your better half likes your chosen scent, which is a great thing
Finished off a soap! Congrats Joseph. ToBS Sandalwood, a favorite of mine. Great aroma and lather in this household. Jason does make AWESOME brush handles! Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks, Tim. I think anyone who likes a NEW LC would enjoy this Goodwill. I’m glad the brush stopped shedding as well... some bad juju was developing between me and Simpson’s brushes there for awhile...
Thank you, Jason! Admittedly today's soap choice was kinda sketchy but in my defense I have gotten ok lathers from Williams.
March Shavette Shave #23 Gear Razor: The Max Headroom Focus R21 shavette Blade: Personna Blue (2) Brush: Stirling Finest Badger (fan) Soap: Soap Commander “Drive” Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops AS: Avon Wild Country Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented The Shave... No stunning new thoughts or breakthroughs today. Just a 2 pass shave (WTG/ATG) without much of a hitch except a light weeper on my chin. Considering the time it takes me to shave with a shavette, I like to walk away with a new insight or breakthrough. I am slowly getting more confident with my left hand, but still not what I would consider ambidextrous by any stretch of the imagination. Walked away with a slightly-above CCS, and I’m not irritated--that alone makes the time well spent Hope you all enjoy the rest of your hump day--be safe, everybody! 23 down, 77 to go!
Sorry to be off-line, gentleman, but when you run an ice cream company that sells to schools, and they all close, it’s a recipe for a very rough ride. I would truly appreciate the prayers of any of the 30 DC who feel so inclined. I’ll try to check back in sometime soon, but it may be a bit.
Excellent shave, Tim! Let me encourage you! The main reason I was hesitant in trying a shavette or a straight razor was that I have nerve damage on my nondominant left hand that affects my thumb, index and middle finger. My feeling is compromised. I decided to try it anyway and because I was using that hand, my feeling in those fingers improved dramatically so that I am now confident using them. I think using weights also was an important factor. Bottom line, you will be confident in using your non-dominant hand.
Thank you, Tim. That is about as much of a ‘good side’ as this Goodwill has. Much like the NEWs it followed, the top cap is in far worse shape than the rest of the razor. The ball end was loose as the handle has the standard crack, but I did solve it from moving at least.
Thanks, Joe! I'm thrilled that I'm even using my left at all, and I improve daily. It's awesome that shaving working out has helped with the nerve damage--that's a fantastic blessing!
Thanks Tim! It truly is a blessing! It has been this way for 40 yrs and in the last year and a half, and has improved tremendously.
Well it's March 25, 2020. I saw a meme the other day that said "My three month trial of 2020 is about over and I'd like to return it for a refund". Been a wild ride in these first three months. Thanks to everyone of you who is still around trying to find some normalcy with your shaves and your reports as well as your good humor and moral support! I just want you all to know how appreciated you are, especially now when there are a million things to do and they change by the hour. Keep the faith!! As for myself, another NO SHAVE day today. I had a pretty good day off and I've decided to just chill out and worry about two days growth tomorrow night. Hope you have a good Thursday!!
