That's a great looking line-up Keith! The Osiris is a gorgeous razor--blade, scales, and overall design... fantastic
Wow, Paul! Even with the cut it sounds like an incredible experience. Also glad to hear you're getting the neck dialed in--now, to conquer the right side...
I think I know the right-side problem...I'm a lefty. I go for MY side, then do weaker on the right, with the right hand. Man, I was going for Super Duper Excellent, until the cut happened.
March 28th Razor: HomeLike CT☆PT 1.18SB Blade: Astra SP (1) Brush: Envy Shave Eight Ball Supreme White Pre-shave: PAA The Cube Soap: Phoenix & Beau Specialist PAA Galactic witch hazel PAA unscented Star Jelly AS: Phoenix & Beau Specialist Good morning Big step up in blade feel with the 1.18 baseplate. Where the other baseplates feel smooth and easy this one feels like it'll bite and it did. Going XTG along the point of my chin. I felt the pinch and a few seconds later saw the little spot of crimson. Just a tiny little slice but still a slice. Three passes and I am smoooooth. Have a great weekend!
I always make sure the brush is damp, but not wet. I do not soak the brush to the base because it eventually causes the epoxy to fall apart and make the brush useless. When I want to get rid of excess water, I gently twist and then shake the excess, but I never pull down on the brush.
Marvelous shave, gear and as always a first-rate pic, Jim! Too bad about the snakebite, but thank goodness it is an infrequent occurence.
March Focus AoS Lavender~~Simpson Emperor 3~~1941 Gillette Ranger Tech~~Voskhod You've all heard me go on about eventually having my soaps all be triple-milled, and that is true, but don't interpret that to mean that I don't like creams, or that they don't facilitate great shaves... Au contraire, mon frère. They do and today's cream...at the same time a quasi-homage to our resident lavender lover @Karl G is one of my favorites, The Art of Shaving Lavender. You'll notice the label: "For sensitive skin" This indicates that this product is in its original formulation...you might even go so far to say, "vintage". These tubs are quite full and one can expect to get quite a few shaves out of the tub. Combine that with a larger shave den and this should last you until 2027 and beyond. Lather today was created with the help of a lovely Simpson Emperor 3 in Super Badger. Behold. I'll wait whilst you stare in awe at my lather-making skills. Do me a favor and ignore Vault Boy. It only encourages him when you acknowledge his presence. Thank you. The razor du jour is one of a handful of "Grail Razors" in Shavedom: The 1941 Gillette Ranger Tech. I am not sure why this razor rose to these heights, but it has and I am fortunate enough to include this one in my modest shave den. The above picture doesn't do it justice, as it is much shinier than it appears. The Voskhod blade made its third and final appearance and went out like a good comrade should, sharp, smooth and true to the Motherland. Three passes and some clean up left me BBS smooth on about 95% of my face and DFS+++ on the rest. The ASG and ASB completed a mos def© wonderful shave to begin the weekend. I hope everyone and your loved ones are staying out of harm's way. Keep the faith.
Wonderful photo and write up. AOS Lavender smells fantastic. The star of the show is the Ranger Tech. It's stunning.
I'm present, accounted for, working, and healthy. Thanks for the concern. I finally got my BiPAP ASV unit last week and am enjoying actually sleeping at night. This unfortunately interferes with my TSD activity which usually took place when I was unable to sleep. Hope everyone else is okay. I gotta try to catch up!
