My 13 yr old daughter was bored, with school being cancelled, so she took out her paints. I have several books on painters and artists, in our house, and she decided to paint Starry Night, by Van Gogh. It took her 3 hrs. If you have artistic talents, or if your kids, grandkids do, please post what you have. ..
Wow! She is very talented! very nice! I got a few quilts from my grandmother when she passed. I really like them.
Thanks guys. The wife and I are very proud of her. She has shown artistic talents at an early age. I would have her friends over, all the time, since she was about 4 yrs old and on. We would have them practice different types of painting and arts/crafts, to keep them busy. 3-4 girls together is very very noisy, unless they have something to do. Well, they often painted and drew their favorite cartoon characters. When my daughter was about 7 she could look at a picture of Mickey Mouse, or Minie Mouse, as well as other cartoon characters, and draw the exact picture, almost to perfection, colors and proportions. They looked like exact copies. So, we found a very talented local artist, who saw what she could do, and worked with her for a year or so, refining her techniques, and exposed her to different styles of painting. That was several years ago. Since then, she has taken art classes offered in her schools. She does need to be taught by better artists than she currently is being exposed to. She absorbs different techniques, like a sponge. ..
I used to be an artist. When I was very young, I did some outstanding wall murals, mostly in crayon. Then mom warmed my britches and my artistic career was over.
A couple of planes I did in pencils.............. My favorite ink drawing, an American Plains Indian................
Another art for which my sewing machine is used is called Free Motion Embroidery. Some machine embroidery is computer-guided. This is guided only by my hands. Here are 2 pieces I made recently.
