Thank you, Jason. I did get an unsolicited "smell of approval" from SWMBO this evening.

Most don't know I'm only in my 3rd year of this.
So I'm still figuring some things out.

I am a firm believer tbat you can get just as good a shave with budget shave gear. However, it's in our nature to want top tier items. Personally, I try to be frugal in that I look for the best value at any price point that is within my budget. Yes, there are custom straight razors that are aesthetically off the charts that deservedly demand premium prices, but I don't see the value in spending 600 dollars and above for one. I also don't have that kind of discretionary income to do so. However, I am not against anyone buying premium priced shaving gear. I am very fortunate to have learned what items were good values from you guys.

if a "sold in england" 1958 gold executive set (gold fatboy with slim knurling)came my way i might keep it..but they are outrageously priced..

Great shave report, Joe, as usual! Did you do both head and face? I've always been frustrated with performance of my Slim on headshaves. Be well and healthy, my friend. You're right in the thick of it!

Completely agree. I would only reiterate that for the $$ I spent on the products I used, I didn't get a shave commensurate with those extra funds.

Thanks, Jeff! I have my good days, and I have my bad days--trying to decrease the latter ;)

Not bad for your first day back. I'd recommend a but more subtlety but still some fine enabling.
    Thanks!

Thanks Jeff! Actually my last shave of March was using my Parker shavette for my face and the Jones Shake Sharp for my head. In fact, I can't thank you enough for that razor because it is my number 1 headshaver. I have it down to 2 passes with touchups for cueball smooth. I have used the Slim for headshaves and it does an ok job, but I cut the back of my neck badly because the cap doesn't stay in place. The side bars are not even so that when I close the blade, the cap gets off track and one of the doors unevenly pops open. I have to press down on the silo doors right before locking them in place to prevent this problem. I bought this razor from RE in 2018 and I should have sent it back, but didn't. Now, if I send it back for them to fix it, they will probably charge me half of what I paid for this razor. This was one of the razors that I overpaid by at least 3x the market value. Because of this problem, I don't use this razor too often.

Sorry to hear that, Joe! The Shake Sharp is just a great head shaver. I'm glad you're finding it so. I sent one to Evan as well. I hope he's liking it. It's hard not to like. It's just one great shaver! Are you still stacking the blades. I've tried it both ways, but really prefer the stacked blades.

Thanks, Jim, but I wasn't attempting to be subtle. I don't know of anyone who's tried one who doesn't love it. :yoda -> "The razor, you will like it!"
