Okay, the cut on the neck is not lucky, but the not feeling the blade doing it's work is pretty awesome. I always feel the blade doing it's work--I either need to change my technique or change my face. Win either way Aside from the cut, it sounds like a fantastic shave, Myles.
Awesome shave and cool focus, Angelo! I didn't know Avon did Bay Rum--but then again, you could fill a library with what I don't know about Avon
Thank you Patrick. Thank you Joe. Thank you Jim. Don't you have a Blackbird as well? Thank James. I was trying to decide between the brass and black oxide. Shane was unsure when the black oxide would be restocked since the finisher is a non essential business and unable to work with the shelter in place rules. My lack of patience won out and I went with the brass. I like short handles so that was an easy choice.
I get that, but I think Arko gets an unfair break sometimes, so I wanted it said that while I don't use Arko anymore, I definitely understand why people do Dude. I can barely breathe and shave at the same time without tearing myself up--couldn't imagine trying to sing and shave at the same time. Who knows, maybe for MAYhem. Speaking of mayhem, you haven't heard me sing!
I do have a Blackbird. It was my first DE purchase and what started me down this wetshaving rabbit hole. I have both baseplates and prefer the SB. Great shaving razor. I've found with mine coming just off riding the cap works best for me.
April 2 Parker SRX Feather (2) B-400 by Tom handle w/Envy White Supreme Two-band knot Eufros Tierra Humeda (Wet Earth) soap Alum, Thayers WH, USB/Almond Oil, Floid Vigoroso, & Aramis EdT 2020 Shavette Focus Shave # 22 Two masterful passes and a few carefully orchestrated touch ups annihilated two days of growth for a near BBS result. A couple of red dots appeared on my chin where I worked it too hard - this is my main area of focus right now - a BBS chin with no blood. Nevertheless, Kung fu abounded, and the alum was quiet. Helga reluctantly admitted the shave was "VERY NICE!" Thankfully, she's still living in @timabababaluka's barn, so we met via Zoom in HD. I'm good with that arrangement. We received an unexpected, but exciting, call today. Kathy's transplant is tentatively scheduled to begin toward the end of May. We'll be Minnesota residents for a few weeks. I think we're gonna fit in quite well. Seriously, we're very thankful and at peace regarding how this is all working out. I hope your day is going as well as mine.
