  1. Very nice Joe. I am glad the finger is doing better.
  2. Great shave Terry! There are few people in this world who determine their shaves based on discouraging appellations (I would classify "meat grinder" as discouraging). Glad you're one of them. Awesome shave report--way to go for it! :D
  3. Thank you Patrick.

  4. Beautiful photo and shave, Clint--that Brassbird looks wonderful as-is, but would probably look even better with some antiquing, no? :D

  5. what happened here???
  6. Good afternoon Gary!
  7. went ghost town..
  8. Wonderful shave and report, Bill! :D I'm gonna miss it when the TAR no longer finds its way into the hands of 30DC members. That's the down side of being fascinated by truly unique razors--you get to see them in action once or twice, and then... almost never again. :(

  10. Thanks, Bill!
  11. Out of curiosity, do you shake the Frost Drops, Paul? When I first got mine, I used them 3 or 4 times before I realized that much of the menthol had crystallized behind the label. It was like adding plain glycerin to my shave--clear and clean with almost no chill. Then I looked and noticed a cloudiness midway in the bottle. I was previously shaking the bottle, but this time I really went for it. Broke up that menthol dam and dispersed those crystals throughout the solution--changed everything. :smiley freezing:
  12. Thanks Clint! I will just be careful with my left hand, but it will be awhile for it to be completely healed. The number one concern was an infection and any subsequent pain. Since there isn't any, then I will cautiously say that I will be fine. Frankly, I was more embarrassed that this happened, but that's why they are called accidents. Hope you are doing well and staying safe.

Ended up having a rushed 2 passer, as I got an urgent call from my mom and had to go help her. Nothing to worry about moving forward, but a stressful day for her today.
Anyway, kept the Proraso Red stream going today and the Jr did acceptably for two passes. I can’t remember the last time I used a Gem style razor, truth be told.
I’ve been smoother after two passes, but I was rushed and at least there is no irritation.
    Have a great weekend all.
  14. It really is wonderfully cooling, Tim, but when it come to shave implement mods, I can’t hold a candle to “Razor McGyver” (@Terry). From what I hear someone is coming out with a new Gibbs razor that won’t require blade modification.
  15. I think I do.....it's been a while. But I will be sure to now, with your experience.
  16. Thanks Tim!
Words and phrases that catch my eye concerning razors, in no particular order.

    Monster
    Killer
    Brush hog
    Meat grinder
    Slicer and dicer
    Scary
    Aggressive

    Face scraper

I'm certain there are others, but that's a small list.

  17. I agree, but sometimes that's not always possible. For instance, the Shark (blade) bit me so badly that I look like I was a shaving newbie.
  18. Great Gem shave, Jason! You’re a braver man than me. I would never rush through any Gem shave! Great summary, hope your mom’s ok.
  19. I really like Voskhods! The Spadson, even with a Voskhod require special handling.
  20. If you passed mom's test, then it was a decent shave Jason.
