  1. Great job, Myles. I'm your first channel sub!
  2. Thanks Gary! You brought out the Schick, so I responded in kind with the Gillette.
  3. Thanks, Gary, although my pics are a pale shadow of your recent work!
  4. Thank you Clint! That is my Southern tribute shave to you, Myles, Perry, Charlie and Danny. I am relaxing and doing fine. I went out to get a bacon and egg sandwich with coffee and oj. I walked. I don't feel like cooking so I am going to go out and grab me a hamburger at my local Wendy's. Hope you're doing well too!
  5. You know that was Yankee HOF and broadcaster Phil Rizzuto's line. I agree that she is a wonderful brush. How are you feeling Jeff?
  6. Thanks Jim! I didn't realize that shaving can be great therapy during this pandemic crisis.
  7. The local officials have restricted home entertainment here in our neck 'o the woods. I really miss the shaking.

  8. Great shave report, Evan! I’m glad your Slim shave went so well. As you know, I’m no fan of Gillette Adjustables, but I definitely prefer the Slim over the Fatboy, and the Black Beauty over the Slim. I don’t know the engineering, but do get a much better shave with my Rex over any Gillette TTO, Adjustable or Superspeed.
  9. very cool Joe.sounds like the RAD's are under control.i buy a new soap/splash set here and there,or rescue another brit tech/new when i see one..much better on the pocket book,i would like to get an old type with the bulldog/barberpole handle.i want to dial in the single ring more as well.a little more of a challenge..

  10. Found this:
Slippery elm is a tree. The inner bark (not the whole bark) is used as medicine. People take slippery elm for coughs, sore throat, colic, diarrhea, constipation, hemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bladder and urinary tract infections, syphilis, herpes, and for expelling tapeworms.

    Okaaay, so shave soap for.....?....?.....?

  11. That I do my friend! I’m feeling as well as any 73 yr old codger recently recovered from pneumonia. My Doc told me to isolate from Covid19 after the hospitalization. If I get that one, I’ll be greeting my first wife in person! ;)

  12. I can draw a plethora of humorous parallels to that list of conditions and a typical @Primotenore shave, but I've already been awarded the "beating a dead horse" award. Out of respect for family harmony, I'll stay on the sidelines unless I feel like I'm going to bust if I don't share. :happy102:

I did some reading on slippery elm bark. It was actually quite interesting, as it appears to benefit various conditions. (Not sure if I buy it all, but it was interesting.) It would seem that someone thought it would add some lubrication properties to the shave soap. Of course, I don think think anyone imagined the bite would be worse than the bark. Ooops, I "slipped" already. :scared003:

  13. You may be ‘barking’ up the wrong tree, Charlie. ‘Maple’ I’m wrong!
  14. Glad to hear it! I bet mom is feeding you well!

    BTW, I love the Internet.
  16. I am sure you will get your prized razors eventually. My den is adequate for me with 23 razors, 20 soaps, eight brushes and 2 non brushless creams. I know it is modest compared to some of the members here, but my collection suits me well. I have Lynn Abrams DVD and he illustrates his straight razor collection of over 300. Of course, he was the owner of Straight Razor Designs so one would expect him to have a large selection of many different straights.
  17. Bill, I mentioned that it may cause skin irritation and that pregnant women should refrain from use.
  18. Welcome Jake. Just like most of us, in 30 days you will be shaving like never before. Enjoy the ride!
  19. Glad you are doing better Jeff! If you don't mind me asking, then how are you getting food and other essentials?
  20. Thank you Joe. We are having a great day. Maya is working on a paper due tonight while my wife is taking a nap. I am smoking a pork tenderloin on the Big Green Egg.
