  1. This morning was another shave that could well have been given the highest mark, but for an area I missed below the jawline on the right side. It could well be that each shave with this Burma Shave cakesoap will be better than the previous one. More suds are forming along the sides of the bowl. I must not have shaken out the brush enough, as the first pass began on the watery side. Things picked up on pass #2. Nice clean fresh face&neck(well, except for the missed part of the latter). Mennen Skin-bracer to finish. Most Excellent, but should have been better.

Thanks Clint. Three days was a long time between shaves. It was a great start to the day. Happy Monday and no Atlanta traffic!
Thanks Joseph. There's nothing like the feeling of warm lather. Enjoy your shave, my friend.
Thanks Jim. I hope everything is going well for you and your family.
  3. Thanks, Dan!
I like the scent of St Barts a lot. I don't have Island man so I can't offer a comparison.
    Thank you, Jim!
Wonderful picture, Clint. I hope your day goes well.
  4. Good-lookin' shave, Clint. Have a great week.
  5. I'm down--it'll be Stone Roses and Prodigy and under 8 minutes.

Just got to figure out the video thing. And how to shave ;)
  6. Beautiful shave, Jim--that SnowCloud is the perfect brush for ocean themes. Love it! Looks like the same great shave with CG, just less and less feedback from the alum, Awesome :D

Acqua di Parma~~Simpson~~2011 Mühle R41/Sharp Star
Back to work today after my 14-day quarantine.
That called for a shave with top-shelf equipment.
Charlie's scuttle-shave inspired me to break out my custom-made scuttle my niece threw for me.
It should be noted that although she is a very-experienced sculptor, this was her first attempt
at a shaving scuttle. She was quite successful.
Nonetheless, whenever I use a scuttle, I clank the brush handle on the sides,
which irritates me. (Charlie, I guess you can add that to my list)
The AdP really whipped up fine and was super-voluminous.
Not airy, but rich, dense and slick.
I will mos def© miss this soap when it's gone.
Normally, I prefer to have 2+ day's growth when using the R41, but with only 24 hours,
    I accepted the challenge.
The Sharp Star blade has a few uses behind it...not sure how many :signs002:,
but when inserted in this particular razor, all gloves are off. :duel:
No matter how smooth a blade is, proper angle is vital, lest skin be removed.
All went well, except for a momentary lapse on the right side of my neck---
directly over the jugular vein. :shocked003:
No worries, just a very, very slight scrape, without even the smallest hint of redness. :happy036:
Completed the three passes and was left with a DFS/BBS +++
Trying a new witch hazel, as I am hoarding the last bottle of Thayer's medicated, which @timabababaluka
was so kind to send me.
    Screen Shot 2020-04-06 at 10.22.06.png
It's pretty good, but Thayer's is much better.
Three spritzes of the AdP Cologne and I am ready to face the world.
    Be safe out there everyone.

  8. Sorry today's "scrape" went so poorly, Terry. At least you had the pleasure of scraping away at Lemon Chill ;) :D

    Proraso PS Red
Asylum Shave Works SS & AS - Old Virginia
    Jason's 30DC 2019 LE w/Omega 10049
    Puma Special '89

Couldn't connect when I tried early Sun AM, then got busy. Everything worked as expected. 2 passes w/neck touch ups to a DFS+. Zero shenanigans. Lather shot...to show off the tan color of the ASW 'Old Virginia' shave soap (the lather is actually darker than shown, the soap in the container quite dark brown). ASW's Old Virginia blend is Tobacco Vanilla w/Tonka Bean fragrance, a nice subtle aroma, slightly on the 'dark chocolate' side (from oakmoss per the ingredient list). It is a dense tobacco vanilla blend, quite pleasant, but no 'flowery/sweet' components like tobacco vanilla blends from artisans Chatillon Lux, Stirling, L'Occitane, Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements & A&E.

    Ever Ready 100 w/synthetic
Drew Dick 7/8 Damascus Steel - Green Kirinite

Incredible lather and slick greatness from the Ever Ready 100 this morning. Proraso Red.....an all time favorite sandalwood blend in our household. 'Frigga' enjoyed a thorough round of pasted strops last night. 14k/50k/100k/200k, followed with CrOx and bridle leather. She's a smooth shaver again, 2 passes WTG/XTG and then some slide buffing on the right jawline/neck for a BBS all over. First pass wasn't without issue, she found a bump on the flat of my chin....showed me who's boss. Gentlemen Jon's to the rescue. Finished with matching Proraso AS Red.....smelling great & ready for another Monday!

Hope everyone has a great day!
  10. Lovely photo and set up, Clint! The Brassbird is a gorgeous razor to look at and sounds like it shaves as good as it looks. You'll stick the landing with the lower right neck tomorrow :D
  11. Almost there, Paul! You have to start checking that right side before you put everything away--I want to see that Superlatively Excellent to the Utmost Degree rating! (or whatever it is you plan on calling it ;)). Remember: shave's not done till you check the right side :D
  12. I'm sorry... I thought 'Danger' was your middle name. Great shave, Danger! :D
  13. Thank you, Tim!
    Nice, Joseph!
Cool scuttle and extra special that your niece made it for you.
  14. Very niice Jim!

    Thank you, Gary!
    Good morning..
  17. Beautiful setup and photo, and awesome report, Joseph! Your niece is an incredibly skilled artist--throwing such well-balanced pieces is insanely difficult. I wonder if she could design a scuttle that flares out a bit for you--I can't abide the clanking either (especially at 5 in the morning).
  18. Sorry about the shave, Terry.
