My fave Shavette build. Steel increases mass and glide. Almost like SR.

At 227 in my vid you see me decide that what I was about to do was stupid.

The grips are the hardest part. I really like the overhand kamisori grip around the mouth.

Send my warmest regards to your bride and carry on!

Long handles razors don't bother me. I tend to use my pinkie to steady the lower end of the handle. It's a bit different feel but definitely not a deal breaker. I will say handles can be too short, but I've never found one that was so long it bothered me.

The rumors of the Stealth TAR are true.

Max Headroom, being the cyberbeing he is, was able to breach the exotic defense systems at the elitely guarded and top secret, shave gear engineering wing of Tom White Enterprises deep in the Nevada desert, known publicly only as Area T51.

Using the low weight, high speed and stealth technology, I carefully loaded a fresh stainless steel Feather blade for the first test run.

Dialed up to 6 to go for a comparison against the heavy prototype. I went to work with the full deluxe prep.

Piacenza was chosen as the flavor of the day as a tribute to one of those fresh pies from an authentic NY Italian Pizzeria.

I've never actually had one, but if I did it would come from a place owned by a guy who never knew what it was like to NOT work hard. He would be up early making fresh dough daily. That dough may or may not be rolled a little with a real rolling pin, but it would always be hand tossed and stretched in a style that LOOKS easy. Then it would be laid on a wood peel with a pinch of corn meal underneath to make it move. A slightly salted and spiced sauce, whose exact formulation is only known by blood relatives, is distributed with exacting precision. The special blend cheese comes already shredded and blended these days, even though the memory of grating his own will never fade. A pinch of oregano gets tossed on before the trip to that gas fired brick lined pizza oven that is never turned off. Never, never, ever would one of those George Jetson walking Astro type ovens ever get a second thought here. Out comes my pie just starting to brown in spots. YUM.

Well that was a lot, but Stirling's Piacenza IS THAT GOOD. The LE 2019 TSD Spirit of the Lew brush served up a deluxe sudsing.

My shave. Oh yeah. Cheeks downward first, then I come in low and light for the s/n on the neck according to my 30DC training, but get careless with my light grip. The kenetic motion of my stroke while 'on the cap' allowed the tool to rock in and give me a kiss. Saw a little red juice that I later sopped up with my alum block. 3 passes 'Light as a feather.

Finished the shave about equal with the brass model, and went for the full post shave I like.

All I could get photowise was this tail shot of Max getting this thing back to Area T51 before they miss it. I had to use high speed photography to get what I did.

To those of you who despise the Feather glue dots as shown on the wrapper I left laying around, I beg your forgiveness.
I'll work on getting some better shots of this tool later.

Bill, awesome shave! The pizzeria take was very good. I haven't had a slice of pizza in awhile because it is curb service and I don't want to eat pizza on my car. Lol! Anyway, good to see that your alter ego is running on all cylinders.

Toggle razors do look very cool.

    SharptoothC I bite..........

My day got all mixed up, flipped, turned upside down and I needed a quick, quick shave to keep on track. I took a break from Arko and shavettes (still loving it, though) and whipped out my tube of Kiss My Face Moisture Shave Cream and my current favorite razor: the GEM Clog Pruf. Man, what a fantastic shave. I keep forgetting what a good cream this is. The lather wanted for nothing. Super slick, thick, protective lather whipped up in no time flat, and the Clog Pruf worked its magic. This is hands down the bone razor I would run out with in a fire. It just does everything well. Head shaves especially. Built like a tank, solid...it just fits my needs. And the soap is the best I have found in big box stores. It may not be sexy or exotic, but it just does the job, and does it well. I think I'm gonna give it a full month after this month of (mostly) Arko.

One of the positives to come out of quarantine has been the time I've gotten to spend with my kids. Our lives have been so busy of late. I see them, but only in the context of sports, school work and activities. This last month we have TALKED, played games, worked out, cooked, painted...and it has been a huge blessing. You have to find the positives in times like these, and I am thankful to God that I have been able to just BE WITH people I love. My wife and kids and I have spent more time really talking this month than we have in a long time, and for that I can give thanks.

So I'm sitting on the front steps, way too awake at this hour from the coffee/espresso I had too late in the day, enjoying the cool air, a cigar and a drink and listening to the birds in the bamboo, and realizing that God can be ever-present and show blessings during times that all too often feel like a curse.

Jeff, The General is a beautiful piece for sure.

I don't have any safety razors in the AC blade format but there are subtle differences in the dimensions of the blades themselves. Here is a chart I found.

    grande_featherblades.jpg

The Supers caliper thicker and wider.

Prolines and Kai blades measure like the regular size Feather Professional Blade
