  1. Good morning!
Got out another adjustable with a new Feather blade.
A maladroit, it is unbalance, hard to clean during a shave, and moves around the face like a bull tiptoeing through a china shop.
But it gives a rather nice shave, for a mongrel.
The blade fits nice and seems to be at the correct angle and exposure to do a good job on 6, or wide open.
2 passes face, 2 passes head, no issues.
If you don't mind lumbering it around like a fat man in a yoga session, it's a nice razor, it gets the job done nicely.

From start to finish a bay rum run and I'm ready for the day.

Not sure about supper tonight, maybe rabbit or some baked tuna steaks.
How bout rabbit, potatoes and onions, fried in an open skillet.
Maybe low and slow all day in a heavy pot.
    Yum yum!
The internet is about to be taken over.
    Everyone stay safe and healthy!
    all
    ENJOY!

  2. There is a theory that the coating on AC Feathers is the nugget making that first shave performance so exemplary before the dive.

I actually stropped one in my DX shavette on leather, after about 5 shaves. The coating was long gone by then and I saw a minute improvement, but not enough to adopt a practice.

  11. My shave today was not without being confused. What do I mean. I was going along very well. It was another one of those "Man, I'm gonna need a second pass" shaves, where the soap is a little too wet to get the shave going. It eventually dried out as I was moving the brush alongside my face. I got set to make the second pass, when I realized that I STILL HAD SOAP ON MY NECK FROM THE 1ST PASS. I don't know how that happened. Therefore, I did a second pass on my face, and of course didn't need to do my neck "again" as the soap was still there. Weird. I decided to leave the neck with the one pass, but went over an area that I felt needed more soap. Let's call it 1. 7 passes. Those of you who excel in the field of mathematicia(isn't that what a mathematician is, chuk yuk yuk?), can picture what that must have been like for me. I'm just glad this wasn't done as a video!! But with all this nonsense, I ended up all right. Perhaps a little too much administering of the Mennen Skin-Bracer, thus I should obviously ease up next time. I will enjoy working with the Lime Burst(Razorock)soap this summer, trying to make a dent or 3 from its current appearance. But it's a nice soap. Given the weirdness of my shave today, I'll say it was QUITE EXCELLENT.

  13. Thank You Tim! The Old Virginia is a really nice aroma. 'Frigga' was appropriately named....

    Thank You Gary!

Thanks Joe....still playing catch up....may have missed a post from Sat/Sun.....how's the finger?

My pasted strops (14/50/100/200) are leather mounted on hardwood. The linen (with CrOx) is part of a 2 strap strop (linen & bridle leather) from Ezra Arthur. I'm probably doing it wrong.....but it works for my world, and the straights fly through the tests that gssixgun uses for his videos (tree topping & one pass shave test).

Very nice Dan! The RA is an awesome razor!

Cool looking setup & brush Jason! Several here enabled me as well with the Omega Pro, those knots are awesome feeling lather monsters.
  14. Thank you Jim.

  17. Love that Colonial General Jeff...looked at that one....hmmm. Nice setup and image!

Yeah....as usual, I'm behind the crowd. Wanted to join in, But, Saturday turned into a skip day. Thanks for the kudos Jason!
  18. Nice shave Jim! Love that bowl and razor. Great job on the BBS. Remember we aren't suppose to touch our faces right now.

Midnight Stag is a fun scent, but I think the sample size would be enough to last a lifetime. That's the one scent I can still smell in my shave den 3 days later. Still in rotation, but only when I'm doing manly stuff that day.
  19. Excellent report, Bill!
  20. Congrats on the terrific maiden shave of the Carbon razor Jim!
