  1. I look forward to your review of the OC Hawk. Mine is scheduled to be here Thursday. Not very many OC Artist Club shavers out there, I’m really interested to see how it does.
  2. Thanks, friends. It was a chilly, but satisfying shave.
  3. 10g of menthol crystals in the new bottle. :Animatedfrozensmily:

  7. Thank you Jim. I’ve knocked most of it out quickly. I might do the rest at home.

    Razor: Parker SRX
    Blade: Derby Premium (1)
    Brush: Omega S Brush S10019
    SS: Arko
    AS: Proraso Green

First shave with the Parker SRX. I liked it. Made it through the shave with just one small weeper. I'm calling it DFS. Not perfection, but I think I did okay for my first shave with this tool. The smaller blade makes it easier to get into the hollows of my neck. With my Feather and straight razors I have to work into the hollows with the blade's tip and work my way out of them with the blade's heal. Not difficult now that I'm use to it with my Dovo's, but I still struggle with the head geometry of the Feather DX. I'll need to do some more side-by-side comparison to see what's happening differently between the feather and the parker.

The Arko and this synthetic Omega were not a great team. Face lathering Arko seems to work better with a soft brush that holds a lot of water and the S10019 is stiff and does not hold much water. I ended up struggling to lather the Arko on my face and had to apply more soap for my third pass. This Omega was my favorite brush for a while, I think it's great for bowl lathering, but without the bowl to contain the moisture, it didn't work as well, at least for me.

All in all it was a good shave but not as awesome is my previous 3 or 4. Jason @jtspartan would probably say if I had just used Palmolive I wouldn't have ended my string of epic shaves. Perhaps that's true, but I'm shave stalking Charlie @wristwatchb, and that means using Arko.

  14. I'm looking forward to comparing day 30 with day 1!

He loves his football. Before lockdown he was playing at the academies of two local professional teams.
  15. I seriously need to get me some Arko when my TOBS runs out!
  16. How does Proraso Green marry up with Arko?
  17. Sounds like a great first shave with the Parker, Evan! Congrats!
  18. Beautiful looking shave, Jim--too bad you found the scent a bit overbearing. Was it the cedar or the spice. I've yet to meet a cedar I didn't agree with. Spice on the other hand... that can get overdone for me. The Missus has found both to be too much if overdone.

  20. Thanks Bill! I was truly worried when it happened, but I am pleased that it is healing nicely, especially that I am an "old" man.
