  1. Very nice Gary. Love the outdoor photos.

  2. That is a very nice combo, Jim. Is it just the pic, or is the connection between the baseplate and handle plastic? I can't imagine it would be on such a well-finished razor.

  3. Fantastic shave and photo Blair.
  4. Love the look of that V1, Terry.
I got a sample of MITA soap from Stirling. I should bring it out soon, if Spring ever truly arrives...

  6. Love the look of that knot, Dan. A very nice 2 band by the looks of it. Sorry about the Alum...
  7. Thanks, Jason.
That's something I did. I put nylon washers on most of my razors. Just trying to protect the finish. I'm finally getting used to having them on my razors. I couldn't tell you how many I've sent down the drain by forgetting that they were there.
  8. Congrats on the new knot, Jeff. Looks very nice. The soap sounds like a winner as well. I wonder what the backstory is to that name, though.

  9. According to that chart that Gary posted yesterday, the Canadian prewar Tech has a slightly larger blade gap than the usual Tech. To be honest, I notice zero difference between my pre and post war Canadians. I don't have a prewar US Tech, though.

First shave in the books. Not a resounding success. I did 2.5 passes after shaving yesterday. My face and neck reminded me that I don't shave every day usually... Hopefully something this focus can remedy. I ended up with a clean shave with no visible stubble. I have a few weepers on my neck below my left side jawline.

Bring on day #2. I'm sure I'll get things dialled in with my first real razor/blade combo from back in the day!

Stay safe and enjoy your shaves gentlemen.
  11. A great start to your Tech focus, Gary. Good morning to you, sir.

  12. Very nice pic, Blair. Love the scales on that razor!
  13. Lovely picture, James!
I'm sure you'll get your shaves dialed in quickly. I used to be a once or twice a week shaver. My skin was too sensitive to do anymore than that. When I joined up with The Crew my goal was every other day. Once I got my technique sorted I can now shave daily.
    Good luck!
  14. Interesting start to your focus, James. I'm sure it will only be a matter of a few days and the Tech/Astra combo will be completely tamed and enjoyed.
  15. Great start to your focus James!

A early morning shave with a early afternoon posts. Back up with the never ending tube of TOBS Mr Taylors shave cream. This thing will just not freaking die. The ŌKU did a wonderful job lathering the cream. I had forgotten just how good this knot feels. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver followed by a spritz of Guerlain Vetiver EdT. I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday.
  19. Excellent shave and gorgeous picture, Clint!
