wednesday tech #2 shave 1948-#27 brit tech-red set platinum eveready 150 synthetic sc endurance old spice 1990s shulton/pg good morning gents ,no difference in razor today just the red cased set.was sourced from the u.k in near nos condition with its original blades.the eveready 150 built a fabulous endurance lather, near bbs in 2+ comfortable passes, old spice to finish.awesome.i shave with these sets with their original as seen handles as a young bloke would experience in 1948 for school or work.but usually i screw on the solid fluted handle with better balance and similar weight to a ball end handle but more grippy.just a preference i use with most of my gillette 3 piece razors/news included. have a grand day everyone..
T Thanks Joe.....Just so you know I plan to devote the next 6 days to the state of Texas(3 days for The Soap Exchange, 3 for Central Texas Soaps.).
April 15 Good morning guys! Straight Razor Shave # 157 F Herder (Ace of Spades) 7/8 Sq Pt Full Hollow Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush Stirling Coconut and Lime SS and AS Nivea Balm not pictured I bloomed the soap because the water makes a nice preshave and this coconut and lime scent strongly bursts forth into the air. The Omega produced a nice face lather, but it shed 5 bristles so I wasn't too thrilled. However, I didn't let it deter me from accomplishing my mission of having a nice shave. Previously, when I used this razor, it wasn't as sharp as I would have liked it so I Croxed it and then did 20 laps on the fabric and 50 laps on the leather. Did 2 passes without touchups for an error-free IBSS+ shave. I like the Coconut and Lime scent so Iiberally put on the aftershave and then followed with the Nivea. Have s nice day guys and be safe!
April Focus Baume.be~~The "Duke"~~US Gillette Tech/Personna 74~~Clubman Special Reserve Same razor, same blade. Everything else is changed. I think if I had to choose my favorite 'cream', BAUME.BE would be it. The stuff is amazing. It is so moisturizing, so protective and crazy-slick. The scent---Ringelblumen (Marigolds) is unique, as far as I know. Takes some time to acquire an affinity for it, but once you do, BOOM. Love it. Not to mention it whips up into one of the best lathers out there. Observe: Vault Boy rappelled down from my ceiling and, once again, photobombed my picture. This is shave #2 with the Tech and, much like yesterday, was uneventful. Oh, remember I said that the knurling was adequate? Not with this soap. The handle when wet and a bit soapy was very slick. Have to deduct one star. Other than that, the shave was very good. Finished with Dickenson's Witch Hazel...not such a great product. The Clubman made up for it with some great smell.
I have looked at their inventory and nothing really interested me except Cryogen. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so that I can use it. I can't wait to see your thoughts on it.
Thank you Jim! The brush is over a year and it really never shed so I can't complain. For a $10.00 investment, this brush has performed well so I don't have any complaints with it.
I haven't been motivated to use Cryogen yet. 19°F when I left the house yesterday and a balmy 32°F this morning.
Great shave, pics and post Joseph! I do get a kick out of Vaultman hogging the scene. Have a great day!
