Thanks, Tim! The new SS Hawk is a great shaver, or should I say blade holder for the Feather Super. You, being a shavette guy and all, would probably appreciate it. It’s not quite in the Vector or General category, but delivers a great shave for the price.

Thanks, Joe! It’s a more than decent shaver! Do you use Feather Supers in any of your shavettes?

Particularly when they used to be reddish brown bakelite.

Great shave, Tim! Sounds like your shavette takes Schick Injector sized blades instead of AC blades.

Hey Joe, are there any shavettes that use AC Blades?

I remember it as well, Joe. I believe it was targeted at a female audience. My Skoal and Sunflower Seeds comment was more a joke about possible baseball inspired scents after hearing about Jim’s Pine Tar soap. I believe B&M did a real baseball inspired one called Diamond a few years ago.

Nice shave, James! I had the same issue with my two Techs! I found that a Feather or a Nacet delivered a closer shave for me.

thank you Tim..not a lot of cheap choices in late 1940s britain.england still produced the open comb version as well during this time period, but fazed them out soon after.they were very well made and heavily plated to last a long period of time.gillette england made that a priority.the aristocrat razors of the era cost near a weeks wages in comparison.

No, I don't. I only use my Rockwell DE blades in both shavettes and my Personna Hairshaper blades in my Dovo. The Personna blades are almost as long as a straight so I like using them.

Lol! Sometimes I read things and don't realize it is in jest, especially when commenting on the net. When I went back to get the info on Stirling Sunflower Fields, it was marketed as a gender neutral scent.

Jim mentioned the IBC and the CJB shavettes use the AC blades. There may be others, but I am not sure. Obviously, the Feather AC blades go with their shavettes.

Thank you, Joe! Just a tad over a week--it's hard (and not a little frightening) that time can move so quickly :D

Did I miss-see the color or have you actually been baking the bakelite? :D

Congrats on finishing that soap, Tim. FYI, the splash doesn’t deteriorate like the soap does, and is worth a purchase imho.
