Herder 49 scales in blond horn with stacked brass washers. Synthetic 16k Shapton edge... very enjoyable.

Went Black Ship Grooming yesterday, so turned the clock back a bit and went with the previous incarnation - Beaver Woodright’s Thomas Tew, a nice citrus.

Shave 94 DFS+, cream was AoS lemon lathered with a Keyhole 4, And a splash of Myrsol limon finished up.

 

Goldilocks lather day - first pass too dry, second pass too wet, third pass just right. This birth year ZTV Russian did it’s work anyway

Tonight I got to shave with a razor I have owned for over a year, but have never shaved with. I had to get it honed and didn't want to mess it up because of my lack of skills. I don't know how rare a razor it is, all I know is I've only seen two in all my looking. One in a video by DrMatt357 on YouTube and the one I own that was honed by DrMatt357.

Two pass shave to a very smooth face feel, not quite BBS but close enough!

Nice deep early stamping on the tang. Went the route of just stabilizing the scales with clear epoxy in the big gouges. I love the character of the blade, and it has a very nice edge.

I honed it on a coticule. It missed the feeling that it really has a keen edge. But it removed the stubble.

 

Coral, one of a pair, soap was ABC hard soap lathered with a Simpsons 59, and a little ABC almond cream finished up the shave.
