  1. Thank you Jim. It’s already been a hell of a day.

    Thank you James

    Thank you Myles

Thank you Tim. I really like the way the antiquing turned out. I will redo the Karve as well and hopefully get results similar to the General.

  2. Awesome report, Jeff! It's a shame those razors are one-of-a-kinds. Are you the last of the 30DC-ers to be using them?
  3. Thank you Joe.

    Thank you Patrick.

  7. Fantastic post and photos Joseph. Thanks for confirming my guess of the teeth being the only difference between the two.

  8. And you've got ballads covered--sprinkle in a haiku or two, and it should be a fantastic series of courses. ;) :D

friday tech focus shave #4-french shave
    1949 french thin handle tech
    nacet
    opal f200 badger
    le pere lucien apricot
    pinaud lime sec

good morning gents, loaded a new nacet into the newly acquired french tech.lovely razor with a solid thin handle, unlike the hollow thin handles the brits used.beautiful balance and very nimble.it is a touch milder than the flat bottom tech due to it's u.s post war head design, but has very positive blade clamping properties.uses the same clamping technology as the new short comb.very smooth shaver.
the opal built a fabulous apricot lather, and a near bbs was achieved with my usual procedure, with a little extra pick ups /buffing.i like/am used to the flat bottom more than the post war versions, but would get more proficient with more use .i have never seen this set before anywhere,so i am glad to be it's new caretaker.a tech in a shiny case..only in france it seems..
pinaud lime sec caps it off.awesome..have a fine day everyone..:)

  13. Beautiful photo and shave Jason. I have broken a few hairs on Zenith brushes when I didn’t soak the brush long enough. I hope that’s what happened to you.
