Personally I lean more towards three piece razors. TTT=Technique Trump's Tools Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
Thanks Charlie! My dad was very strict with four sons to straighten out. He wasn't a warm and fuzzy man, but I respected him. Later on as we grew older he softened somewhat, but he still was a man's man. He didn't get the nickname Rip for being a pushover. Lol! However, I did mention that he was not shy and loved to socialize. He was a trucker so he worked hard all his life and never really had it easy. He lived to 83. I guess like any father-son relationship, there were good and bad memories.
Disposable = weepers . Awesome report Keith! Enjoy the cigar! Outstanding pic Jim! That is wonderful news Joseph!!!
Ha! Well, I do have a Chronograph ordered yesterday. Nothing in the price range of those stunning Steinharts, though.
Hi Gary..thanks. The Lime Burst is going to take a real long time to finish-just like the Jeeves Bay Rum. But I'm glad to have both around.
I'm sure you're right, Patrick....Sometimes I end up fine though..perhaps I can add "soap weakness" to that(meaning lousy loading)
@Trigger It was a bit of a hectic few days but I'm going to post a few pictures of the straight razor tonight once the family goes to sleep. It just so happens that a few hours after I posted about the straight razor I got the first one I ordered delivered! It's definitely well used and not much blade left but I found my great grandfather's wet stone (he was a barber and a bookie in the 1920's and 30's) and after a good oiling and some real nice passes I got this thing razor sharp....pun intended I'll post pictures of it as well.
April 19 G-3 Gillette Slim Feather (1) 30 Day Crew LE Poculi handle w/APShaveCo 28mm SynBad knot (flat top) Eufros Tierra Humeda (Wet Earth) soap Alum, Thayers WH, Stirling USB/Almond Oil, Floid Vigoroso, & Aramis EdT I selected my birth quarter Gillette Slim and my 30 DC LE brush for a focus detour shave this evening. I performed nearly three passes on setting 9 with a new Feather blade, giving careful attention to skin stretching and not repeating strokes over the same area. My third pass mostly consisted of touch ups, including the infamous Fool's Pass and some J-hooking in the hollows of my neck. I couldn't ask for anything better. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is the result: And here's the weaponry: I hope your weekend was fantastic!
Congrats Jason!! What are you getting? I'm still not sure how that Steinhart link infiltrated my earlier post. And it matters not a whit to you as a chrono man, but this is my favorite Steiny. Tremendous bang for the buck here, and the vintage styling just looks cool: https://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/ocean-vintage-military-new.html It's a steal for $500 CAN...er...I mean...$360 USD. Dang Freudian keystrokes!
Let me tell you something. With the pandemic on and restaurants limited to carry-out and delivery, the food delivery business is booming. The way I run my schedule is Monday off, work Tuesday, Wednesday off, then Thursday through Sunday are my run 'n' gun days to deliver all I can. That four day run is a marathon at a sprint pace right now. I'm running two, sometimes three apps and it gets to be a killer. So much so, that this is what I look like most Sunday nights. I'm not even sure I'm that alert at the moment, so that will explain what I have to say next. NO SHAVE SUNDAY!!!!!!! Hope you all had a great day and enjoyed the same good weather we had. I also hope you had some fun and relaxed a bit!!
Thanks Joe! I appreciate the encouragement. My Bride and I are using the lock down as an opportunity to eat healthy and get daily exercise. I'm at 203 and aiming for 200. I fell back into some bad habits early in the year and crept up to 211 by mid-February, but I'm back in the game now. I don't think anyone would call 200 slim, but I feel good at that weight.
