Great shave report, Maestro! I know that Proraso blends Bigelow, one of my favorite creams, but I don’t find them identical. My post shave skin feel with Bigelow seems better than the Proraso.

I’m a cold water shaver, do a cold water rinse as my prep after my shower, and before lathering. I finish my shave with a cold water wash with either brush squeezings, or Glyce Glycerin soap. Works well for me!

the prewar models clamp the blade like new long comb and the post war like the short com.the prewar /long comb on the left.the long comb /prewar is flat on top and makes contact with the blade at 2 points.the short comb/post war contacts the whole blade surface.the post war holds the blade more rigidly, the prewar is said to me more efficient, but the post war smoother/milder..never compared them myself, both work fine.. 20200420_115947_edited.jpg

Thanks, Gary. The razor plate second from the left looks newly plated! Thanks for the continuing Gillette education!

Great shave, Dan! You should try a cold water rinse to kick off the shave, and a cold water wash with brush squeezings or a good glycerin soap prior to WH/AS/Balm etc. works well for me!

Thanks Jeff! The C-Mon razors are also great. Many Italian barbers in the 50's and 60's used these razors. Neal from Heritage Collection is no longer producing these facsimile brushes. He might have a couple left, but I haven't been on the site for awhile.

That month is about when I bring back my fall/winter shave stuff. It would be my first month since joining where I devote an entire month to a theme, I have some time ahead to plan for it.

Aaaand I see that I have been joined by another member to call him Doc Ezlovan :). You did a typo on his name, but I won't bring that up.

I'm getting my mask tomorrow. Remember I wrote about the lady who runs a dry-cleaning shop here? She's spending her "work days" making masks, mainly for the local hospital, but I found out individuals can by them, too.

Lovely shave, Jim! Sorry to hear of your frustrations at work! Hopefully, we’ll al be out from under this terrible isolation in another month or so!

Really! I must be suffering from the placebo effect. The Bigelow seems different to me. Is there some documentation somewhere? I know Proraso manufactures it, but was given to understand that it wasn’t identical! Go figure!
