That's right Joseph,,,and that soap which would "get er done" as you say would be great lead-ups to the aftershaves of old.

Myles, a childhood friend of mine wrote me a letter from his boarding school around Thanksgiving, and said he was already counting the days til summer vacation. Your barbershops are re-opening? Man, I wish mine would soon. I've done a lot of "homemade haircuts" here,. and they don't look good....I have 3 bald spots for the babrberettes to "fix".

@Paul Turner -I wet the tips of the brush every time I shave because you want to have enough water to lather your face. My routine is a soak the entire brush with water and use it to wet my face and then squeeze the brush to get rid of the excess before I load the brush. Load the brush and begin to lather your face. Add water until you get the lather you want.

Well since the brush already has soap on it, which would probably dry out by first shave, do I give it fast 5 seconds under the tap and proceed?

I usually have a cup of water to dip my brush. However, I would say just lightly run the tips of the brush under the tap and lather. It'ok that the soap is pasty. Just add water to brush to continue to hydrate the lather. Repeat till you are satisfied with the lather.

I think the problem I set up for myself was to spread the soap, thus loading the brush, and put everything aside until I'm ready for the shave. My curiosity got the better of me. I guess I just wanted to see how much soap I could spread, and wait a couple days to do the shave. I'll do the tips under the tap routine. I'm sure the brush will be pasty. It's a PAA soap, not sure of the name, but it smells nice.

2nd shave with my new V3 earlier this morning. Went with a classic Fougere for Blair's Fougere week and whipped up an exceptional lather. 3 passes later and I am quite smooth. About on par with what I expect from most of my razors. Not an assassin, but not a meek shaver either. A very well put together and finished tool. Got one little red spot on the indent of my chin- user error as I didn't bullfrog adequately and these AC blades are sharp, no question. No need for the Styptic and still a very nice shave.
    Have a great day all!

An emotional day for sure, Patrick. I hope you start to feel better with your sinuses as well.

Congrats on the new software, Jim! I was getting a little worried, as you were getting low on PAA combos...

I’m fortunate to have a 12 razor shave rotation, one quarter of which are AC razors, and the remaining three quarters, DEs. I have many other razors in my collection, but none that I shave with as regularly as this dozen. Every razor in the rotation was selected for its ability to deliver a BBS, but in all honesty, none of the DEs deliver one as easily as my AC razors. My new SS RazoRock Hawk displaced my Gibbs Adjustable. It is now in the regular rotation.

Well, the jury is out on this new AC razor! The SS Hawk V3 is well into the winner’s column. It looks like part of a matching set with my @MrEE metal handled brush, and continues to shave like a dream with the Feather Super blade loaded. This morning I mixed my Feather Super clear gel with a dollop of Kapo Menthol Cream and 3 drops of M-Bomb. Evan’s Hybrid Badger/Boar brush whipped up an interesting translucent lather which very effectively moisturized my whiskers.

After my shower, and before lathering up, I began my shave with the usual cold water rinse. The Feather Super blade made quick work of my softened whiskers in the first WTG pass. Relathering with my Feather gel/Kapo cream combo for the second and final ATG pass, allowed for another effortless BBS with one minor weeper below my Adam’s Apple, which disappeared following the WH application. I feel clean, cool, smooth and refreshed, and ready for another TR6 ride this afternoon! Stay safe and healthy out there!

RAZOR: RazoRock 316L SS Hawk V3 SE
    BLADE: Feather Super
    PREP: Cold water rinse
BRUSH; MrEE Metal Handled Hybrid Badger/Boar Knot
    CREAM/GEL: Feather/Kapo Combo
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Thayers Lavender WH and Fine Accoutrements Snake Bite AS Splash. Finished with A&E Post-Shave Serum

Another very informative write up of another very unique Gillette, Gary. You may want to try to find advertisements from 'Army&Navy' stores in Canada from right after the war. They might have sold those through there are well. There were tonnes of wartime products available there. My grandfather bought a WW2 British .308 there even.

Yes....I think I had a similar problem some time ago, and they just did an all-around short cut. Somehow they hid the bald-spot(s)back then. They'll know what to do,. They'll expect us to look silly, I'm sure.

    Lovely picture, Jason!
My Hawk V3 made it to Denver. It should get to my local po tonight for delivery tomorrow.
    Thank you, Jason.
Instead of buying more soaps I should be concentrating on using up the soaps I have in the Reserve base. I don't know if they'll degrade even more over time.

Beautiful shot, Clint. Love that Paladin handle. Beehives don't look like they'd be super comfortable, but I agree, I really like them.
