Something that helped me make many difficult decisions over most of my working life: "Doing what's right isn't necessarily doing the right thing."
TRUE STORY (1970( I was on a motorcycle trip years ago and stopped in a tiny town in the West Virginia mountains for gas. As I was filling up and adjusting my camping equipment, I saw an old man and his young grandson sitting on a bench in front of a small General store( before Dollar General) and he was telling the kid something and the kid wasn't really paying attention. The kid looked up and said , "PawPaw, what was that you were sayin, agin?" The old man looked sideways and pursed his lips and shot a steam of tobacco juice in the gravel. After some moments , wondering if the old man heard him, the old codger drawled: "SON, I don't chew my tobacco twice!! Well worth me stopping there as I never forgot the bewildered look on the kids face: I gave a swift kick on the 1969 Triumph Tiger, and headed down the road, smiling!
"Bring out the Gimp" I can only pray that I am never in a situation where those words are said. Sent from my LM-Q720 using Tapatalk
I grow up with quotes and proverbs. In my family, we all love them. I've learned they're a quick resumen of human knowledge. Very powerful. Two of my favs are not by famous people, but my parents. “Why is the father of the How” “Constance and Patience are the provident daughters of mother Intelligence and father Commitment.” * In Italian is the same word, Costance for perseverance and Patience for endurance.
Avoid those that when they see raindrops, all they see is a flood ....... or spot of sunshine, the scorching deserts. For they are jealous of everyone that's happy.
That's a phrase my brother uses quite often. I find it a wanting statement .......... wanting to sound high minded or philosophical, but lacking depth or substance. Remember my opinion only has a range of importance of a radius of 3-4 inches. I prefer the deep thoughts of A.A. Milne "The things that make me different are the things that make me." —Piglet “People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.” —Pooh "It isn't much good having anything exciting, if you can't share it with somebody." —Pooh
