Very nice, Gary. It is, Myles. Produced in small batches by Derby City Chop Shop, the product will be next manufactured in May. You can read about it here: https://derbycitychopshop.shopsettings.com/Winter-Reserve-Small-Batch-Shave-Tonic-p182299047 You'll also notice that they have changed from the original compression stoppers to a traditional cap. I have both and while the original is nice to look at, it makes a huge mess, as witnessed on my SOTD photo. BTW, regarding the Aqua Velva link, I have done business with this seller and she will definitely take "Best Offers".
Thanks Jeff. My weeps usually are tiny and not a major concern. It's keeping pinkys away from sharp objects that makes me anxious. Lol!
Terrific shave Jason! Glad the V3 is working for you! I guess you need to get another 15 to 25 more shaves with that brush to feel like it's broken in sufficiently.
I went out antiquing for some shave gear today. There is a place my friend used to work at, (I helped him a few times work there before) it's a pretty cool store with all sorts of stuff. Rumor has it, the place is haunted and the building used to be an old factory back in the 1800s (post civil war) and apparently some people ended up dying operating some of the machines (this was before labor laws of course), which I have no doubt, I would be a liar if I told you I didn't see what looked like dark figures moving around in the unfurnished section upstairs in the factory before. Hell, I've heard footsteps walking around on the top floor above me while I'm on the bottom floor working with all the other staff members, since no one was allowed upstairs during the time being. Now, I am no man that is scared easily, but there was this section in the unfurnished area that was completely dark (I mean Bottom of the ocean floor DARK) Typically that was where I heard the foot steps, so I absolutely refused going in that section, plus that area needed renovation and was considered unsafe. Any how back to what I was doing today, Last time I was there they had a nice little stash of vintage shaving gear in a little corner off from the other stuff for sale. I've seen a Gillette Fatboy for sale for only 3 bucks last time I was there, but now it had already sold. I saw some vintage Avon cologne along with the shulton old spice Telescope decanter that was still full. a lot of their shave items had sold already, but I managed to pick up a early 50s bottle of old spice aftershave that appears to be full, for only 5 bucks. It may have not had it's original box, but It was still a cool find and it still smells good, maybe a little bit lighter than my other bottles due to aging, but it is still relatively strong. I'll be keeping my eyes open for any vintage shave soaps or brushes.
Wonderful shaves Blair! That's a beautiful vintage straight razor! I love it when a straight sings on a a strop or on the face!
