My second Hawk V3 shave tonight... Definitely better than last night but still resulted in slight irritation on my neck trying to get a closer shave. Cooled down thanks to Thayer's and Clubman and I'm off to sleep. Happy shaves all.

I woke up in the middle of a Spring day and, considering that May is just around the corner, I indulged in rosy fragrances.

By the way, I didn’t even have to go food shopping, the sun is not strong, the temperature is mild and I will soon look at the paper first page to see if there is the obituary I am after.

The Proraso Red Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #340 brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Russian SHaDE Razor with a Gillette Silver Blue Half Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Lilac Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

As I said very many times it doesn’t seem like any blade brand is able to last for more than a week with my bloody hard beard - this morning I had to really struggle. I enjoyed this hyper-mentholated Vanilla soap so much. As a rule I’m not a fan of vanilla scented soaps but this one is an extreme exception - when you open the container, first you get punched in the face with a potent menthol blast, but then the lovely vanilla scent comes out, the lather works up super thick, rich, along with terrific slickness, and the freezing sensation takes hold instantly. Jaco’s glycerine soaps which this one is, as well as the Reitzer have WONDERFUL skincare. The Prep gave me lots of postshave love, and the Alcolado Glacial felt almost painfully cold when I slapped it on. It was a miracle that I was able to get so smooth because the Derby blade was on its last legs, but I done done did it!
