Let me introduce my self. My name is Mike and live in Ajax, Ontario, located just east of Toronto. I'm a Civil Engineer and will be retiring next month. Well actually, semi-retired. I still need something to do to acquire more razors...soaps, after shaves, brushes etc. I'm a relatively noob wet-shaver and I'm addicted. It all started last Christmas. My wife bought me a shaving brush, an aftershave and hard soap in a dish. I didn't know what to think at the time. Anyway to make a long story short a little googling, youtube videos, forum visits and my first razor Merkur 34c, and some vintage razors, just say that I'm hooked and look forward to a good shave. If she only knew what she has started. looking forward to some good reads, informative threads and meeting you all in the forums. Cheers, from the great white north. Stay safe...and shave! Mike
Mike, welcome to The Shave Den from Kentucky! You're off to a great start. Check out the 30 Day Rule / Focus thread. It's a great place to solidify your technique and have some fun along the way. A lot of helpful and knowledgeable folks there will be glad to help you. Before you know it, you'll be helping other new shavers. Many years ago, we took some "farm vacations" to Linwood, Ontario. Great folks and beautiful countryside. Charlie

Welcome from Western Canada. I was introduced to wet shaving in a very similar manner and have defended many a purchase with “you were the one who created this”.
to TSD @miciam I hope you enjoy it here and your retirement, you will have lots of time to experiment with and explore various types of shaving.
Welcome @miciam from here in western NY. Glad you decided to join us at TSD. I usually get up your way once a year when I go to a men's retreat to Miners bay.
