I can totally see social distancing after a dousing of that EdT. That is a great looking razor! Very nice shave and report. Too bad the OS puck has lost it’s scent. All these reformulations for the sake of progress....
Ain’t that the truth.... I’m so looking forward to getting ‘back to work’ so I won’t have to work as much....these honey do lists, constantly walking the dog...man, need a vacation from the vacation. Nice setup and shave Neal!
April 28th Razor: RR Hawk V3 OC Blade: Feather Professional (2) Brush: Yaqi Moka Express Pre-shave: PAA The Cube Soap: GD Sandalwood Fig Musk PAA Galactic witch hazel PAA unscented Star Jelly AS: Fine Santal Absolut Good morning! Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Light tickle from the alum. I'm getting the Hawk dialed in. I see the mistake I've been making. I'm allowing the angle to get too steep on the south to north pass. Still not a particularly smooth feeling razor but the alum has quieted so a step in the right direction. Have a great day!
Another awesome image Jim! Always look forward to your compositions. That GD seems to be unobtanium... Glad that the Hawk is getting tamed some more!
Thanks, Blair! Sandalwood Fig Musk is a wonderful scent. Unfortunate that GD doesn't offer matching splashes, or they didn't at the time I purchased. I have three Grooming Dept soaps, each with a different base. Beef tallow, duck fat and a combined beef tallow and duck fat. All top tier performers. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
April 28, 2020 OneBlade Genesis Feather FHS Mr EE #4 with Maggard SHD The Dead Sea Shave Soap & Aftershave Happy Tuesday. I am so glad its not Monday!! While the Dead Sea soap is not my best performing soap, it seems freaking incredible. The herbaceous overtones mixed with the arid aquatic notes are really something special. The scent smells like a hot dry beach in the Med. Three passes and touch ups ended in another automatic drama free BBS shave. The Genesis works so well for me, its almost boring. A splash of The Dead Sea AS and I am ready for a productive day working remotely. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
Well, a great shave this morning . I repeated with the Sir Hare soap(Alpha) and Stoylin Gentleman A.S. What a combo that is, if you don't have Gentleman soap. Solid loading onto the brush(Stoylin synthetic, 24x51). The brush almost resembled an ice-cream cone, which is what I see in many photos anyway. 2 passes, zero cuts/weepers. I did miss a section of my neck that I usually pick up-that frustrated me. Other than that, the Y-formation was in fine form. I think I overdid the Gentleman a bit, and all I can do is hope it settles down before long. Due to those errors, I must be modest and give myself a Super Duper Excellent for a shave that might well have gone to the top rank. Ready to face the day. By the way, I decided to move on to another shave tomorrow, as it is warming up some, perhaps not the best weather for tobacco&vnilla(course that's ME talking-your yippy dippy weatherman of TSD.)
Beautiful set up, Keith--I think the razor looks gorgeous w/out all the trappings. Kind of like that movie trope of the "plain" girl who is suddenly supposed to look amazing once she takes off her glasses. I was never fooled
Nah....I was being facetious. All fun. But, the first 15 minutes is controlled chaos. It's two 11 year old Jack Russell Terriers, one blind (for 8 years now). They still think they're a year old, and in the body of a rhino. Both make the Looney Toons Tasmanian devil look like a sleepy placid puppy, and with the male having limited doggie social skills.....
April Focus Vintage Williams~~Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor 82/90~~1908 Gillette SR/Personna 74~~SBST Look at how shallow the head of this razor is. Perfect, IMO. With out a doubt, the easiest razor to maneuver anywhere on my face. Couple that with one of the all-time great razor blades and soaps, and what you have is the perfect shave. There, I said it. Perfect. And that's not even mentioning the uber-luxurious Simpson Astor. The "wow" factor is off the charts, friends. Bombed the SBST with some M-Bomb and Booyakasha, The PERFECT finish. Oh boy...this one'll be tough to top.
April 28th Barbasol Floating Head Omega Pro/Poculi First Canadian Maximo Gomez Thayers CL Unconditional Surrender After a week with the new V3, pulled out the FH. Went with a full ‘Tobacco Tuesday’ lineup. Everything worked as it should over 3 passes, and the quality of both these complimentary scents is top tier for me. Not perfect on my neck, tbt, but still a fine start to the day. Have a great day all!
