  1. Chris, it was a very bad wound. It went from the side tip and past the nail bed. I should have gone for med care, but the virus situation in NY is not good so I wrapped it and finished the shave. I placed a bandaid on it and squeezed it for 20 min. Changed the bandage every day to check for infection for 3 days in a row. It did'nt look pretty, but 4 weeks later, it's fine.
  2. Nice work. Glad it worked out, sans betadine and sutures. Jedi move was telling us. Kudos.
  3. Hi.

    I'm Chris. Aka Bama Samurai.

    Tag me

    Ask me anything.

This is what I'll be doing this month.

Other than that, all is quiet in Alabama.

  4. You need the Veg.
  5. Lots of CT action.

    Love it.
  6. @jtface

Feather was discarded after 16 shaves in a Gillette 195 (Fat Boy), dial set at nine.
  7. That's a really good effort!
Did the quality of the shave decline noticeably, or did you bin it as soon as it wasn't up to snuff?
  8. To be fair... I followed an idiot proof thread, complete with videos, on honing with film!

It was a little time consuming - particularly setting the bevel, but it wasn't complicated
  9. Well., Blair, now we wait!
  10. :D
  11. glad you are ok Chris.thank you for checking in..be well..:)
  12. I predict the SBST will go down in the 3rd round...

I have to skip a meal every week to make up for the money I lose straining granules out of my soaps. Don't get me started on how much I lose blooming...
  15. Nice shave anyway, Joe. Love lavender soaps. Planted some lavender yesterday. Working outside actually made me forget, albeit temporarily, that we are in the middle of a pandemic.
  16. Great shave report, Tim! Does the straight razor appear after the 100th shavette shave?
  17. Impressive, Evan.

  18. Great looking blade, Evan. I assume this will be a Japanese style fixed handle? Kamisori blades have a one-sided bevel, don’t they? Yours will be two sided, or at least I assume that from the pic. Please excuse my ignorance. I know next to nothing about straight razors.

  20. You don't know me too well yet, Joe. I have a full bottle already in reserve. ;)
