  1. Nope. Apparently just the usual condition of my whiskers.
  2. Congrats on using the films! I am glad you went in that direction. Last year, I honed 3 razors for the first time and got great results. I have never set a bevel, but this method is idiot proof. Glad you had success with it James!
  3. Today's shave was a little better than "that of yesterday"(I should be a writer..course that's what I'm doing right now, chuk yuk yuk). Anyway, another one of those where I "bloomed the brush" too long, thus getting a pretty moist first pass. Things dried out for the second. One minor weeper(better result than yesterday's 3). 0:25 to load the Razorock soap onto the Jayaruh. I think I need to start the neck's Y formation a little higher. That area was part of what I missed yesterday, but I got it today. I poured out a little too much Skin Bracer, but decided to take advantage of that by "bracing" more "skin" than I normally do. Most Excellent.
  4. Wow! I didn't know that little tidbit!
  5. Thanks Maestro! It's my first and only lavender soap and I like it very much. It really produces a nice lather and the scent is great. This pandemic hit this nation very hard and people are going stir crazy. It's good to get some fresh air. Have a great day my friend!
  6. I have a lavender soap at my sink now...just for hand-washing. It's an artisan-Block Island. I'm pleased they're available at the supermarket. Correction-it's called Block Soap and it is made ON Block Island(southern tip of Rhode Island).
  7. Awesome Keith!
  8. Terrific shave, pic and post Jeff! That's awesome your little experiment of using 2 blades worked.
timabababaluka, brit, clint64 and 2 others like this.
  9. Very nice shave out of the mouth of babes, Randy! Have a good day!

  11. Great shave, Randy. I completely agree with the above statement.
  12. Glad you had a good shave, Paul. I cannot understand your "blooming your brush too long". Please explain.
  13. I thought it was the name of Gumby's partner.

    Williams~~Simpson Milk Churn~~Ralf Aust~~Small Batch Shave Tonic
@Trigger inspired me to use my Ralf Aust this morning and I was not disappointed.
    Keen
edge and in combination with superb lather made for an effortless and uneventful shave.
The Milk Churn BORDERS on not enough backbone, but seeing that my puck of Williams
is so well-hydrated, it was able to get its load on.
Pillowy soft and with a well above-average, ergonomic handle, I bathed in luxury
as I applied the creamy, slick and protective lather.
The SMST is almost gone. Tomorrow or the next day and that'll be all she wrote.
  16. Well, it involves moistening it under the sink tap water, so that I can bloom the soap better. I've heard advice from many sources as to how long I should keep the brush under the tap. The idea of taking a completely dry brush into the soap doesn't appeal to me. Course I do a couple of drops into the soap prior to this brush action.
  17. You too, Joe.
  18. Great shave! I have the same brush with the same color scheme. Heritage Collection makes great replications.
  19. Try this. Soak your brush whilst showering in a mug or bowl. Before your shave, squeeze out the excess water. Then go to the puck. See how that works for you.
  20. Awesome shave with a beautiful razor Maestro! Austs are excellent razors!
