May 1 Koraat 7/8 half hollow. Sharp enough to shave with but not as sharp as I like. Took her the Dovo pasted strops, good enough to shave with but once just a little short of what I like. Back to the stones. May 2, a huge smile on the huge Mike Martinez Karasu. This razor usually has a laser like edge, today it was just very sharp. So she will visit the stones too, she has a lot of shaves and I want that scary sharp edge back.
Saturday Straights' Shave Cold Water Rinse Arko Stick Tom's 3D Printed Brush Lee Mfg. 5/8 CWR Clubman Pinaud AS The Arko Shave Soap Stick face-lathered well with Tom's 3D Printed Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Lee Mfg. 5/8 gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Clubman Pinaud AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Very pleasant shave with the Leader. This razor really responds well with a very light touch and sings throughout. Hot water preparation AOS Lavender PSO Shavemac 2-Band Silvertip Badger Castle Forbes Lavender Shave Cream FW Engels Leader 13/16 AOS Lavender After Shave Balm Happy shaving - Karl
A lot of great inspiration over the last few days... pulled out the Brian Brown smiling custom today. Rainy & cold, so a nice leather scent seemed appropriate... real nice soap. Enjoy your shave. Tom
Some much fine steel in this thread, no wonder reading the thread leads to new acquisitions. A very hefty Silverloaf, 8/8 near wedge with a smile.
Sunday shave with a Dovo Bismarck that’s been transplanted into proper scales. Soap was MdC rose and a splash of D. R. Harris Pink finished things up. Yesterday was shave #101 with the Filly 14 Sub Cero.
Shaving adventure! Armed with my trusty Sheffield Machete, I clearcut a path for my catpanion and myself through Tabac slathered overgrowth. Driving back the jungle for another few days, a liberal application of Pinaud Gent's Gin and all that was left was contemplating the day while watching the sun set.
Pradat brun 6/8 Speick shaving stick + tüff sensitiv AS Pradat brun is also from Thiers. I read somewhere they produced till 1947. The logo is a shaving brush. This is a nice shaver.

Tonight's shave Royal no. 1. 6/8" Best extra hollow grind Perfect Japanese strop Lowborn Supply with 26mm synthetic knot Captains Choice lather bowl Black Ship Grooming Captains Pipe soap Black Ship Grooming Captains Pipe After Shave This was the first time using this soap and aftershave. It is a good soap and aftershave. The soap has a good amount of slickness with a little thicker lather than what is normally required for shaving with a straight. The AS also performs well. The scent is very strong. It's now been almost 2 hours and it's just as strong as when I first applied it. The scent is cherry pipe tobacco. It has a very strong tobacco scent with a light cherry sweetness. If you are looking for a good strong tobacco scent this is a great choice. I had a very nice shave with the Royal Razor. I am finally getting consistent smooth comfortable shaves now that I finally figured out how to use zero pressure by trying to use a negative pressure. Basically what I started doing is pulling away from the skin until it is barely touching.
May 4th SOTD Ralf Aust 6/8 Sp Pt I wasn't thrilled with Saturday's shave with this razor so I decided to use hone it with films. I used a 3, 1, 0.3 micron progression. Hit it with Crox, then 30 laps on fabric and 60 on leather. Test shaved it yesterday just doing the sides of my head to start a headshave. It shaved like a dream. Today, I just stropped 20 on fabric and 40 on leather. After one pass on a 40 hr stubble, I could have stopped right there. I didn't have to apply any pressure on this razor whatsoever other than to glide the razor. It was a fun shave!
This Ragg is always a contender for top razor in the den. I picked it as I knew it would perform well regardless of the soap. I keep trying to make this GFT work for me but no dice. It seems like it just quickly evaporates from my face no matter how much I lather it up in the tub or on my face. Any GFT fans out there with a technique suggestion? And, yes, the Ragg provided an outstanding shave - smooth and sharp.
