Nothing feels finer than a sharp edge fresh off the stones or in this case off the films.

Drew does make a beautiful razor and the nicest scales.

That is a cool looking blade.

Maybe someday I’ll acquire a Max Sprecher. Sadly I do not think Mike Martinez is making razors anymore. Osiris has a similar style.

After doing a big brush focus, then a small brush I decided that a boar brush focus is order.

Monday's razor is a smiling Saito SK-3 tribute. It is bigger and a heavier grind than my SK-3 razor. I am on the fence about this edge, it is just off the pasted strops and it can shave but I wish it was a tad bit sharper and smoother.... so I guess it is back to the stones. Since the weather was warm I brought my Sterling Electric Sheep back into rotation and it was a good match this Jason made brush filled with an Omega Pro knot. The knot is broken in now is a pleasure to use. The shave was good.

The last time I used this 7/8 Hart Steel razor the edge was a little below what I wanted so it was taken to the pasted strops. That seemed to the trick and the edge was very nice. It was sharp it mowed down pimple, sliced it off without me even feeling a thing. The Semogue boar is getting broken in and delivered enough lather for four passes. An excellent shave today.

A friend took me to a famous spicy noodle restaurant for lunch. The only offer two main dishes, iced buckwheat noodles or 'mixed cold buckwheat noodles. 'Mixed' means the red sauce, which is spicy (in the foreground) and that is what I ordered. This restaurant is famous because it is very spicy, even for Korea. The restaurant was packed for lunch and we had to wait for seat even though it was holiday. It an interesting feeling to eat something cold that makes you sweat.

    Godrej Lime Shave Cream
    Myrsol Agua de Limon

Happy Tuesday everyone. My wife bought me the Godrej shave cream while she was shopping at the Indian Grocery. The cream was very easy to lather as I expected. The lime scent was more candy like and light on scent strength. I found the lather to be very slick. The post shave feel was nice as well. Reading over the ingredients, I noticed the lanolin. Color me impressed with the Godrej cream. Three passes with touch ups along my jawline and buffing my lower neck ended in a drama free BBS shave. However, I had to work much harder for the results today. Maybe the blade is just going out. A splash of Myrsol Limon and I am ready for a morning at my office.

    Soap:
    Wonderful Cherry Pipe scent
Brush: “Underdog” on the base of the brush fitted with a Paragon Boar knot
Bowl: Creek Road Pottery: TSB bowl
    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Drew Dick 7/8” Half Hollow Damascus
    Brush: Opus Shaving Brushes “Underdog”
    Lather: Hub City Pipe Dreams
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Another fantastic shave with my other “Dick” razor. It provided an effortless and super comfortable three pass shave.

The Hub City soap is the first from this artisan. It is a wonderful Cherry pipe scent, which was easily whipped into a thick lather with the new boar brush.

The finishing touches where provided by the staple of both the alum block and witch hazel. The AV musk adds a nice touch

Looking to get outside at some point today on the beautiful cool day in the Northeast. Have a great day!

Nice shave this morning. 0:25 to load the Jeeves Bay Rum soap. Maybe I need to go a little more, me being a slow-loader and all. But I got a good amount on. Right away I noticed a chunk of astroturf(whiskers)on my upper neck between the ear and Adam's Apple. That has appeared to be the area of most-needed-to-be-shaved lately. I thus tightened the angle of the Y formation(the right angle at about 1:00.). 2 solid passes, but one weeper during the first pass. Relatively harmless-came right off with the washcloth, but the fact that I had to use a washcloth to get it off said to me "I'm harmless, but you can't get me off without the cloth". . I "focused" more on missed areas before applying the Stephan Bay Rum A.S. Another thing I'm focusing on, as I think I mentioned a few shaves ago, is slapping the aftershave all over, as opposed to dragging it(I think the latter method hurts the skin some). Anyway...............Pretty Excellent.

Proraso PS, SC, AS - Red (Sandalwood)
    Ever Ready 100 w/synthetic
    Feather AC DX (kamisori style)
    Proline B-30

Awesome shave this morning, everything worked as expected from a name like Proraso. The restored Ever Ready handle loaded with a synthetic flat top whipped up slick rich lathery goodness, with the ever familiar powdery clean Sandalwood aroma filling the nostrils. Mmmm. 3 passes to DFS+, managed to shave a skin blemish off completely on the 3rd pass. Oh well, happens. A touch of alum styptic and all was right after the cursory sting. Followed with the matching Proraso Red after shave...more divine fragrance....ready for a busy day.

Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!

Thank you Jim. I think she paid around $3 or less for the tube. Honestly I like it as well as the tube of TOBS she brought back from London but don't tell her that. ;)
