Wonderful photo and report, Joseph! Sorry to hear the handle is so slick. Is the razor's head worth using a different handle or is this just a pass?
Stunning photo, Gary! The crystals and that rocket look amazing together, and if you look closely, the facets on the bowl catch the blues of the car on the label--it's a nice touch!
Tim-Thank you! I did manage to get out to have a catch with my son. He is practicing his lacrosse. The Damascus blade is a beauty. Hope you are enjoying your day as well.
May 5 SOTD Good afternoon guys! I decided to do an above-the-shoulder shave today! Shavette Shave #155 Dovo Shavette Rockwell 1/2 DE Blade (6) Rockwell 6C (6) not pictured Semogue OC Super Badger Brush Stirling Sandalwood SS and AS I always shave my face before I shave my dome. Everything worked well for my shave. Face Shave: Did 2.5 passes without any bloodshed or irritation to get a BBS- shave Head shave Did 2 passes and got an IBSS + without bloodshed or irritation. I usually do 3 passes, but the blade was getting dull so I binned it and used the Rockwell 6C for cleanup to give me an CBS (cueball smooth). Finished the shave with splashing a liberal amount of the aftershave. Have a great evening!
thank you Tim,was a nice shave.did you catch the buildings in the chrome part of the mont blanc bottle?
I tried it once... Not sure the work on the lower grits was sufficient to really showcase its abilities as a finisher.
Lacrosse and Rugby are the two sports I regret not being able to play growing up due to there being no one else interested to play it with.
Nice to see the Dovo out again, Joe! Fantastic set of shaves with a fantastic equally fantastic results
May 5--In the Mix-it-Up-of-Mystery May (Yeah, you read that right!) Shavette Shave #59 Gear Razor: Max Headroom Focus R21 Shavette Blade: Silver Star (1)--reached into “Paul” the May Day Blade Box of Mystery and grabbed these. My initial reaction is they are not quite as sharp or smooth as the 7 O’clock greens, but my lather today was a bit airier than usual, so I’m hesitant to write these off just yet. Brush: Stirling Finest Badger Soap: Iced Stirling Iced Pineapple Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue & Clubman Original--the “Mix-It-Up” today is a blend of AV and Clubman. I went heavy on the AV and light on the CO for a kind of powdery AV. Not bad. Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented The Shave I avoided yesterday’s set down wound by simply shaving in the opposite direction over the set down. No problems. The standard 3 pass shave I’ve been doing the last week or so (WTG, XTG, ATG), but I wasn’t having the success I’ve had in previous shaves. Not terrible, mind you, but not as good--DFS and CCS on the southernmost part of the chin. No irritation (always good news), but I was definitely picking up on the vibe that chasing would have invited the vampire in--decided to keep things as they were. Hope everybody is enjoying their Tuesday 59 down, 41 to go!
