Fantastic photos and report, Joseph! What an awesome lineup, and the lather you are coaxing out of that vintage Williams is most impressive--glorious sheen
You've got a phenomenal theme going on there, Gary--Deep Blue... everything! That Senator is gorgeous and efficient--so unlike many of the political senators we have here south of your border
Lovely photo, Jim! Glad to see the CX 316L is back in the rotation. I think a soap where you smell mostly peppermint instead of the lavender is optimal. Besides, you've got that Fine Lavender AS to chase it It's nice to see Soap Commander getting a little more play these days--I definitely have to grab another tub!
It should be automatic that you should always obtain a tracking number, especially when something is shipped from Europe.
May 7th Razor:Valet AutoStrop Blade: Feather FHS (7) Brush: Simpson X3 Best Badger PS: Proraso Red SS: Mickey Lee Soapworks Colonia De Agrumi AS: Stetson Cooling Moisture Anotther 2 pass DFS shave. It's not completely fair as I usually do 3 passes each shave, but this is the most shaves I have ever done with one blade. It's not as sharp as a fresh Feather, but it's not grabing or pulling. Stopping does shine up the bevel's leading edge. So I think its a factor. I still have a long way to go. I cut the initial wedge on my homemade blades. Probably cut the jimps and engrave them tonight. After that the next step is heat treating and grinding. Obviously one is turning out to be the practice piece, but the other is turning out pretty well.
Thank you, Tim! I have three SC soaps. Wisdom, Vision and Fortitude. Fortitude is my favorite and one of the best scents in my collection of soaps and aftershaves. I agree, Joe.
Great report, Paul! Sorry about the cut, though. With all my larger-opening AS bottles, I keep my index finger over the opening, tip the bottle upside down, and quickly lift and replace my finger from the opening (like giving it a quick tap)--a few of those usually gives me the amount I want
Wonderful shave, Evan! Hope the stropping at least nets you some passable shaves as the month rolls on. Both of those razors look fantastic! Can't wait to see the future updates
