  20. May 10--In the Mix/Mix-It-Up May
    DE Sunday

    • Razor: Mysteries Flare Tip--seems like ages since I’ve shaved with the PIF I got from Evan @MrEE at the beginning of this year. It’s a beautiful, very mild and smooth shaver that I intuitively get fantastic shaves from. It also taught me that I don’t have to have an aggressive razor to get a 3 pass BBS with no irritation
    • Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword (1)--Wonderful blade. Wonderful shave.
    • Brush: Semogue Boar
    • Soap: Iced Pineapple & Glastonbury chilled (4 Frost Drops and prepared and chilled with ice water)--I enjoyed this so much last week, I had to repeat it for Mother’s Day. I backed off slightly on the pineapple (⅓) and beefed up the Glastonbury (⅔) for fantastic results
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue (1 Frost Drop)--my lightest and coolest AS scent seemed like the perfect match for this fantastic chilled soap combo
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave
I nested my lather bowl into a bowl of ice water for a prolonged and wonderfully chilly lather that was further enhanced by the addition of menthol. I wanted a wetter lather today, so I pushed the limits of Stirling and really brought the ice water to bear. Seriously, just a few more drops would have broken the house of cards. The lather held, though, and was awesome.

All three passes (WTG, XTG & ATG) were easy, long, smooth strokes. Usually I’ve got to keep the strokes on the third pass short, but not today. Almost no clean up or buffing either. BBS results and zero irritation for my efforts.

Happy Mother’s Day everybody! Make sure to tell the important women in your life you appreciate them--then make sure to do it all the other days, too! ;)
